I get horizontal streaks when i record on my jvc mini dv camcorder, then when i play back the tape i get the same streaks. BUT! when i capture the video using the camcorder straight to the computer i dont get the streaks, but i do get streaks when i capture the video from the tape to the computer...quite frustrating. Any help will be appreciated.

- Yes Im recording the video through the computer at 30fps and it does fine. When I capture the video onto the computer from the tape the clip says it is also is performing at 30fps, but it has the blue streaks through it. Does that mean there is a problem with my tape? Would re-recording over it many times cause this problem, or is it my camcorder?
-   When ever i turn this camera on, i get a bunch of vertical lines through the little screen that pops out and also the thing you look into. At first, the screen shows the canon logo, with a blue screen behind it, and then it goes into those little horizontal lines. can some one tell me what to do to get rid of the lines and get my old camera back? i am 15, and **** with computers, so try to tell me what to do in an easy way. thank you!-   Guest
Are you trying to shoot from a TV or computer monitor? If so, check the frame rate--30frames per sec (fps) or 15fps. If it is on 30fps, changing to 15fps should solve the problem.

There is no sound on playback when capturing video with my camcorder. I'm assuming the camera isn't capturing it at all. I've tried to check this by connecting A/V cables to another source and still no sound at playback. I am going to try cleaning the heads to see if this works. Thanks Jesse
