Horizontal Streaks accross my lcd during record and playback

I get horizontal streaks when i record on my jvc mini dv camcorder, then when i play back the tape i get the same streaks. BUT! when i capture the video using the camcorder straight to the computer i dont get the streaks, but i do get streaks when i capture the video from the tape to the computer...quite frustrating. Any help will be appreciated.

Yes Im recording the video through the computer at 30fps and it does fine. When I capture the video onto the computer from the tape the clip says it is also is performing at 30fps, but it has the blue streaks through it. Does that mean there is a problem with my tape? Would re-recording over it many times cause this problem, or is it my camcorder?

When ever i turn this camera on, i get a bunch of vertical lines through the little screen that pops out and also the thing you look into. At first, the screen shows the canon logo, with a blue screen behind it, and then it goes into those little horizontal lines. can some one tell me what to do to get rid of the lines and get my old camera back? i am 15, and **** with computers, so try to tell me what to do in an easy way. thank you!

Are you trying to shoot from a TV or computer monitor? If so, check the frame rate--30frames per sec (fps) or 15fps. If it is on 30fps, changing to 15fps should solve the problem.

Horizontal bands appear on the lcd screen during playback

Can you tell if it is recording them that way as well?

It sounds like it needs a head adjustment. That can be done at any camera store.

Streaks in playback

the first thing i would do would be to try a head cleaning tape-if that doesn't help see in your book or menus if you can adjust the tracking on the camcorder-when the tape heads get worn over time they need to be aligned and that is what tracking does-some older models allow you to manually adjust-good luck!

GR-D72 Mini DV Digital Camcorder makes clicking sound when tape running

the clicking is from the capstain turning the tape -- and perhaps the metal cage holding the tape.. if it is bent then the movement of the capstain may be pushing it in an eccentric fashion.

send it in for repair.
