Server with e100 nic

i have IBM server with e100 nic with novell 3.2
on a switch 100
if some 1 is coping from this file server
all the users are hold and no 1 can login
only if the coping is stooped every thing goes to normal
how can i fix it

Also, it could just be a bad card ... not completely out of the question.
