Hi, Just because Ge doesn't make it anymore doesn't mean there aren't some out there. Give us a model/part number and see if anyone can find you one.

Contact your nearest appliance store. Most have GE parts in stock. This may be more available than you think. I have seen someone take tempered glass and literally glue it with special heat resistant glue and it looked really pretty nice. The edges were beveled and not sharp. This of course is a last resort.

I have broken the outer glass on one of the doors on a thermador SC302TB oven. Is replacing the glass something that a handy homeowner could do?

Yes. replacing the over door glass is no more difficult than removing a few screws, inserting the new glass and reattaching the screws.

That link will take you to a detailed image of the door as well as where you can order a replacement.

Hope this helps.

I found a replacement for my oven on ebay. Be careful, though, because one seller offered one that was the wrong size.

Replace inner oven door glass on kitchenaid wall oven

To replace the door glass do the following:

0 Check if there is a hinge stop bracket located at the hinge point of entry on the oven, in that case remove it.
1 remove the oven door by pulling it up and removing from the the hinges. If glass is broken , then secure glass with tape. Have a table with a cloth on top ready to lay the door.
2 Remove the outer screws , starting from lower side of the panel.
3Removethe inner screws. Keep all set of screws ordered, and take note of theorder you remove them. You will follow reverse order in reassembly.
4 the frame will be free now,
5 Remove the external glass panel and leave it in a safe place.
6 Replace the inner glass.
7 Clean outer glass and metal door, re-assemble it and mount it back

I also report testimonials for your model:

"
removed the door from the oven by releasing clips attached to the door hinge -- very nicely engineered. Removed about 6 philips head screws to allow the door assembly to be taken apart for access to the glass. Lifted out the broken glass, cleaned the inside of the door, installed the new glass, reassembled the door (a two minute project), and reattached the door to the oven. Cleaning the inside of the door"

"
I removed the oven door by lifting it off with the hinges. Disassembled the door parts one at time making sure I remember where I removed the screws until I am able to get to the broken glass. The most difficult part is making sure that the insulation strip & the gasket stayed in place after I replaced the broken glass & doing the reverse process of installing the parts together. Relatively easy process as long as you remember where the parts go. When in doubt, I had to refer to the pictorial of the disassembled door shown on your website. "

I need a replacement door for a built in Baumatic 720 series oven

I have exactly the same problem and my bottom glass panel exploded. My friends did the same. You can take the inside glass panel out via the two screws and clean the inside of the outer glass once removed. Id replace all the rubber seals to as they perish, particularly the one that clips onto the oven itself that meets the door.
