Re: Touch screen probs
If your lucky, all it will need is a reset start the unit and using a paper clip, insert it in the small hole on the side. if that fails, try 2.62 3.61 update using the Magellan link below...follow the update directions to the letter..this update is huge (1.75GB) and takes about 45 minutes to install so be patient. you must register your unit on the magellan site to download the update.
if neither solution works, id say the digitizer is bad (the touch screen) but the update normally cures this problem!

Try using something like a stylus to type in the letters. I've found with gps' that the touch screens aren't that accurate and almost all fingers are too big to properly type in anything and since a stylus (or even a stick) is much smaller it should be more accurate.
Try to remove the battery and re insert it back in to see if it will work. Or hold down the power on/off for about 15 seconds, that should do the job.
If that does not do it, then calibrate the screen, to calibrate the screen, follow the steps below:
Turn off your nuvi,
Press your finger on the upper left corner of the touch screen,
While holding your finger on the touch screen, turn on the nuvi.
Continue to hold your finger on the screen for about 30 seconds until the calibration screen appears(white screen with touch dot),
Hello, Omnitech GPS systems are very decent for me. I have 2. There were several reports of GPS problems beginning on or about 11-14 June 2009. This is due to the GPS navigation messages rollover from 255 to 0. Some GPS systems fail to accommodate this behavior; Omnitech is one of them. Staples did provide a firmware update a few days later. There are also other firmware updates available on the net. I personally successfully update the firmware and resolve the problem around June 15, 2009. Otherwise, the problem should go away after 1-2 weeks.
