    Mine records a few minutes with sound, but the rest is cut off. It is not a screen saver or power saver. I watched the entire time to be sure. I wonder if it could be a buffer becomming full?

    I, too, have the problem. This is the direct VHS tape to DVD transfer.
    Video is all there but no sound. I submitted a question on ADStech.com a couple of days ago, still no reply from them.

    I really need the solution. If anyone knows or finds a solution, please let us know.

    I have the same problem. There is sound in Cap Wiz throughout during recording but the saved MPEG only has sound for 5-10 minutes. Any solution yet. This started a month or two ago. It all worked fine for two years or so before that ...

Check the registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ADSTech\CapWiz3\Params

Values should be:
"m_fUseUleadAudioEncoder"="0"
"m_fUseUleadMuxer"="0"
"m_fUseFileWriter"="1"
Be sure to backup the curent values by exporting the key values before changing them.

No sound on digitised video from DVD Xpress DX2

See the other post, but when I was recording from VHS to my hard drive, I had to change the input from DV/DVD to VCR/TV and it worked for a six hour recording. Cheers

Problems with previewing/capture with ADS DVD Xpress DX2

I'd suggest removing all your other USB devices. I had heard that a Netgear wireless internet transmitter in another USB port could interfere with the ADS recognizing the signals from the video player or camcorder.

I had no picture preview at first. Then I tried unplugging my internet transmitter from the other USB device on my computer. It worked like a charm and started previewing right away.

I also found I had better luck with the old-fashioned composite video cable versus the S-video cable. Picture still looks great though after transfer, so sometimes old fashioned still does the job.

Good luck.

Need diagram to connect Motorola DVR, Panasonic DMR-E recorder, A/V Receiver, and HDTV

Your not going to be able to connect in series (not sure if thats your goal) since your limited by the type of connections you can use. Your receiver is going to have to be switched depeneding on what source you want to listen too. DVR, DVD, etc. HDMI is going to important for your TV connection. Radio Shack has cheap HDMI cables.
So... connect HDMI from DVR to HDTV this will give you sound and picture to TV. Connect DVR optical or coaxial ( RCA if you dont care about surround) to Receiver to give you DVR sound thru Receiver input.
Connect DVD to receiver via optical/coaxial/rca for DVD sound thru receiver (again RCA is not recommended for surround).
Connect Component video to HDTV(or HDMI if TV has second HDMI input) to give you video from DVD.
Connect Yellow video or S-video from DVR to DVD recorder input to allow recording from DVR. Also connect red/white audio to (same) DVD input.
That should cover it.
