batteries are available from e-bay
one dead battery will not affect any others
all hand sets make calls and receive calls through the base unit that is connected to the landline
base unit is connected to the landline and operates any hand set that is picked up
make sure all handsets have the end call button pressed as one not pressed after use may keep a line open
call your provider to check the land line to your premises
borrow a neighbours phone and plug it into the socket and see it you get a line on their phone
Please refer user guide available at the attached link.
I am assuming you have trouble answering incoming landline calls from the phone and there is no problem with making outgoing calls on landline. Also I am assuming you are using cell phones and do not have any panasonic handsets.
First thing to check is whether you can answer using the base unit or not. From there on you will have to then check if the cell units are actually working with the base unit. Follow the bluetooth setup instructions and make sure your cell phone is compatible.etc. http://service.us.panasonic.com/opermanpdf/KXTGE260-MUL.pdf
Try registering your older handsets with your new base station per the manuals instructions. Also your new base station might be transmitting on a different frequency or some other coded transmission is not recognized by your old handsets. Did the manufacture say the older handsets would work with the new system? They might not even if they did say so.
I had the same problem with my uniden 5.8 ghz phone. After placing a filter (from the phone company) into the wall jack and plugging the phone into that filter the static noise was eliminated completely. Hope this helps.
One of the phone handsets of the Panasonic KX-TG563 trio gives me static w/ dial tone and then shuts down or it gives me the message that "System is busy/Line in use" with no dial tone. If I get closer to the base unit it seems to work but w/ alot of static. The base unit phone works good and the other handset works ok too. The battery shows fully charged however, when I take the battery out to try a reset when I put it back in the battery indicator show very low. I tried switching batteries w/ the othe hand sets it doesn't help.
If "No link to base. Move closer to base, try again" is displayed, even when using the handset near the base unit, the handset may have lost communication with the base unit. You need to re-register the handset to the base unit..
HAVE BOTH THE HANDSET AND THE BASE UNIT NEARBY DURING REGISTRATION.
FOLLOW STEPS 1 AND 2 LISTED BELOW. YOU HAVE ABOUT 1 MINUTE TO COMPLETE THEM.
Press and hold [HANDSET LOCATOR] until the CHARGE indicator flashes.
Press and hold [FLASH/CALL WAIT] until "Handset Registering" is displayed.
-When registration is complete, a beep sounds from the handset.
-Wait for 20 seconds after registration is complete while the handset establishes communication with the base unit.
If... the handset beeps three times and "ERROR!" is displayed, an error occurred. Try again from step 1.
You can stop registration by pressing [OFF] on the handset, and pressing [HANDSET LOCATOR] on the base unit.
