The ESN or IMEI unique serial numbers are inserted in modern Digital phones semiconductor chips during initial programming / testing in the manufacturers factory and cannot be changed. To find these numbers look for labels on the phone itself or on a label or on the original phones packaging box. Some phones have a menu that lets you read out the number on its screen, but you cannot change them. The use of unique serial numbers for each phone is done to to prevent cloning.
