Question about HP DeskJet F4280 All In One Printer InkJet
This is probably an idiot question but we have never utilized the fax capability of our printer. I have a phone and our credit card machine connected to the phone jack. Do I just get a 2-to-1 jack adapter to connect both the fax line from the printer and the credit-card machine, then plug into the phone jack?
Smithbrother is right if your 6210 is set to "auto answer". If you switch this off, then you will need to answer the phone manually. If it is a fax (you can hear if it is) key 123 and hang up. The 6210 will connect and receive the fax. If you can't always answer the phone then you won't receive faxes. Unfortunately the 6210 can't distinguish between faxes and other calls

If you do that I believe what will happen is that the Fax machine will answer your phone, unless you can set it to not answer until after so many rings, and you answer it first, beofere that number of rings. You will have to installor program the software for the fax part of your printer .
