Question about Diamond Multimedia ( VC500) Video Capture
On their site and on the package the one-touch product claims it will capture MPEG 1, 2 and 4. When I check the settings in the Setup window, it shows eight recording formats to pick: DVD, SDVD, VCD, MPG4, AVI, WMV, WMA, MP3. Obviously MPG4 is MPG-4. Are any of these other formats another name for "MPG-1" ? Is there another way to ensure I'm capturing MPG-4 ?
Thanks for your help! --Todd
After more thorough testing I think I partially solved the issue...
The Bad News:
Diamond wrongly promotes in multiple places that it only captures in MPG 1, 2 and 4.
Also most of the settings in the "Setup" tab capture a format different than is labeled. Here are my findings translated: DVD= MPG#, SVCD=MPG#, VCD=MPG1?, MPG4=MPG4, AVI=AVI...etc
The Good News:
After understanding their cryptic format names, you can capture in 8 different formats!! And the format I was interested in was AVI so I'm happy. :)
