Olympia supertype 330 types wrong characters

It will type correctly if you are using the lcd screen but it will not type the correct characters if you are typing directly onto the paper. I don't have a manual for this printer but would like to have an answer, please.

Check the pitch setting to make sure that it matches the printwheel. It is the switch that is marked 10, 12, 15, PS. PS is proportional spacing and will only type correctly with a PS wheel. The number settings are for PICA ELITE and MICRO.. 10, 12 and 15. The numbers are characters per inch...so the larger the number, the smaller the character.. it is the opposite of FONT SIZE.

Check to see if it is on Auto Return. If so undo and it should type to the end of the page. Typically Electronic Typewriters functions are a code Key + the green symbol underneath the Character Key. Hope that Helps

Won't print whole character, works good on bold

On the L. side there is a slide switch for impression put it on the largest dot. The problem is likely what you are typing on rather than the typewriter. Many lables an forms do not accept impressions from correctable ribbons well.

You probably have the R. margin there. Go to that margin, press but don't hold the mar rel key space to desired location press R. mar key.

Letter bunch up when typing

Try a little WD40 on the silver shaft the carrier slides on, look for debris in the area below the carrier, turn it off and slide the carrier by hand feeling for anything binding.
