The design is differnt between some GE hotpoint dryers if You could give me a model number I could probably explain better, most older models have two screws on upper face, but if you are trying to remove the Upper area where Timer is then that also has several screws which are accessed by visual or underneath. I would love to help but too many factors.

Unplug the appliance from the wall socket then to take the lid of the machine off. This can be tight to come off, take the screws out of the rear then palms of the hands, a fairly heavy thump on the front corners is normally enough to get the lid to slide rearwards, then you can lift it off.

Look along the top edge and you'll find a couple of screws at the corners, remove these.
Take out the water container and remove the hidden screws from there.
The facia is now free to come away from the front panel.
There are some plastic clips holding it so be careful not to break them. It just takes a bit of manouvering and twisting to get the facia released.
Once this is released you should be able to remove the led display panel and pcb. I hope this helps. Thank you

In the front of dryer there are 2 equal indentations equally spaced from edges. with a flat headed screwdriver push in and up at the same and you will raise 1 side of top. repeat on other edge and lift top and rest it against wall so it doesn't go head over heels and start to break things

How do I get the top off my White Knight CL447WV Tumble Drier?

In reality, most of these aged appliances take quite some amount of force to get apart after they have been together for years. The model you listed is accessed from the top after the lid is removed for many repairs.

Removal of plastic face panel

usually not. Take the knobs off, they pull off and look for screws under them. Check the back of the panel to make sure there are no screws holding it on also

Need to clean out dryer vent...do not have manual for PALE956EAW is there a way to remove front bottom panel?

there are 2 screws near the floor that remove then pull down and out on the panel, then you can pry up on top cover at the front to raise top cover then lean this back against a wall so you dont stretch and break the wires to clean out the top area too,if you need to go further to clean you can remove drum belt and door then remove screws holding door frame and remove then you have the entire unit accessable

Need to replace dryer belt on maytag LDG7500AAW. Do not have manual, how do you remove front panel?

you have to take the screws off the back first, then you should be able to see along the inside top a few more screws that hold the top on , be careful when you release the top that you dont break the wires to the switches , then you shouldn't have to take the front off ( because sometimes the drum falls ) but try and wiggle the belt between the front and the drum, center it and grease the gears down there while you have it open or you'll have to do that later. Then put the top on make sure you dont catch the wires, then back

Dry Stop Working after My son put super wet towels in the dryer. Dryers display will turn on, but will not start.

is it a Bosch dryer, if it is then the belt break switch tripped:

To reset the switch unplug the dryer, remove the power cable and back cover completely. two screws holding back cover are under the top cover which is held on with two screws at the rear. Remove the screws then pull top cover back and then lift it off. Remove last two screws and take off the full back cover . On the front of the motor you should see two white wires going into the safety switch for the belt breaking. Push the button on the left to reset the switch (you probably will hear a click) Do not push the right button as that is what got tripped originally . Good Luck Tim

I have a maytag dryer DG712 that needs the belt replaced

Should be able to take the back off. should see several screws holding the back on, The removable back is usually a metallic color and not the same color as the cabinet If not, while looking at the back notice where the top and back meet in the seam there should be a metallic looking clip or hinge with a screw in it. Lossen screw dont take it all the way out then go to the front of the dryer and where the seam is between the top and cabinet take a flashlight and look for the two clips are in the seam take a flat tip screw driver and push in on both of these and without marking up the dryer lift with screwdriver against the top. Top should open up then you should be able to get to the belt easier.

Putting Belt back on Kenmore Dryer 63942

Depending on the type of door the dryer has, is how you approach the access of these dryers. Mostly though you yank out the filter first.Remove the 2 screws in the filter housing on top. Then use a putty knife to pop the top. Remove the screws holding the front panel on. VERY IMPORTANT! Raise the front up an inch before pulling forward or the panel clips will break! Some models have a panel on bottom. If they do then this panel must come off first. Then you remove the door springs and back off the screws holding down the bottom of the door panel. Then pop the top and remove the screws on top to get the panel out of your way. Get the drum out, clean out the dryer witha vacuum and use this belt routing pic for reference:
