You need to change the battery definitely. The battery is on the bottom of the laptop There will be a latch on the bottom that you have to push with one hand and hold it and the other hand you'll take the battery out and then you can put another battery in its place.

I have got a acer aspire 5750z but nearly every time i try to charge it the charger needs me to take the fuse out and in untill it workes

If the notebook battery is not charging or the notebook does not indicate that the battery is charging, it's looks like that the battery is working, but its power management software may have a problem. You will need to uninstall and reinstall the power management software by using the Device Manager.
1.go to device manager
Right click on my computer->select Properties->click the Hardware tab->click device manager
2. Expand the Batteries category.
3. Under the Batteries category, right-click the Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery listing, and select Uninstall .
WARNING: Do not remove the Microsoft AC Adapter driver or any other ACPI compliant driver.
4. On the Device Manager taskbar, click Scan for hardware changes

Laptop power charging stops and laptop later shuts down and no charging

First you should figure out what caused this problem. Here below are some possible cause:

AC Adapter Problems
If the AC adapter is not working properly, then the charging won't occur at all. An AC adapter, with lower than required voltage settings, will not be able to charge the battery. See to it that the AC adapter matches the laptop battery's requisite settings. A loose wire or internal breakdown, may render an AC adapter useless. Changing the adapter all together might solve your problem.

Power Management Software Problem
Sometimes, the problem is merely with the power management software. This is the classic case, when the laptop charges when switched off, but doesn't when the computer has booted. The software may have gotten corrupted which must be causing the problem. In such a case, go to the device manager section and uninstall the power management software. In case of Windows XP, uninstall 'Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery listing' from the device manger section. Take care that you do not install any other AC adapter driver software. Then go for a 'hardware scan', which will automatically identify the battery and reinstall the latest version of the drivers again. That will restore the charging facility of your laptop.
Internal Charging Circuitry Problem
If neither the AC adapter, nor the power management software has a problem, then problem can be with the internal charging circuitry of the laptop. In this case, there is little you can do, other than send the laptop to the manufacturer's service center.
Bad Battery
If you have checked for all of the above, one of the main reasons, which could lead to the problem of laptop plugged in but laptop battery not charging is a bad or dead battery. Run a laptop battery test. If your laptop is quite old, this could be one of the most likely reasons. Get the battery checked from the manufacturer and check if it has exceeded its predicted recharge cycle limit. It is important that you get the dead battery replaced immediately with a new one. Laptop battery troubleshooting will solve the problem.

Hope this will help.

Hi there, I was wondering why does my laptop battery stays charge on the same percentage rate on my Acer Aspire 5738G? Thanks Regards, Mark

Ifthe laptop battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be wornout. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cyclesand will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% andgradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up atall. ORThe battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected thebattery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time.If the battery drops to an unacceptable chargelevel then the battery needs to be replaced.

Hi I have a acer aspire 5720 laptop had it about 1 year the orange light on the front which shows battery charging started to flash and when I moved the charger wire it flashes on and off I bought another...

Usually when you see this flashinf indicator it is a failing battery. IT maybe that some of the cells in the battery are failing and refusing to accept a charge, in that case the battery will actually damage the charger.

Battery not detected

Either both batteries are dead or your battery charging system in the computer is dead. Best thing is to try yet another battery or try your batteries in somebody elses laptop.

Battery does not charge

You can try to recalibrate the battery but from the sound of it, you may be better off purchasing a new battery. You can get the brand name for about $110 average or a compatiable battery for about $80.

Good Luck

Turns off shortly after turning on

Is this when connected to power source or on battery?

If it is on battery the battery may need to have its memory refreshed.

Turn the 5720 off, remove the battery, hold the on/off button down for 15 seconds and when done put it back together and turn it on.

Good Luck
