Question about Zephyr Savona ZSA-M90S Kitchen Hood
I replaced the light bulbs on Zephyr Savona, but they're still off.
Original bulb has a JDR designation. I ordered bulbs and received bulbs with a JDRC designation, the brand was Hikari--these bulbs were shorter than the original bulbs and will not seat properly even after removing filters and turning bulbs by the neck of the bulb (porcelain section). Since they won't seat completely in the socket there is no electrical contact and they won't work.

Zephyr uses bulbs with very slightly different overall length. A store bought bulb that appears to be the same may be ever so slightly different length and thus not work. This is due to the bulb's screw base not fully mating into the socket and getting good contact with the power contacts. The correct Zephyr part number for this bulb is Z0B0020 which is a halogen bulb with these specifics: GU10, 50W, 120V).
If the correct bulb will not light (and the other side does work) then a new light socket is called for. The attached link provides a parts diagram and part numbers for this hood.

Original working light was inserted into the problem socket and did not work. Further the replacement bulb (store purchase) worked in one of the other working sockets.

There are typically only three reasons why the fan would work and the lights would not:
• The bulb may have burned out.
• The fuse for the bulb may have blown.
• Switch operation may be faulty.
I would check each bulb in a different socket, like a floor lamp.
Then check the fuse or the circuit breaker for the hood.
If these things are all aok, it must be a faulty switch.

Original bulb is actually a JDR--I purchased 2 bulbs and received JDRC bulbs that are shorter and do not fit and there is no adjustment at the bulb housing/socket--LOL
