Tappan Oven does not heat up

I have a Tappan Model TEF326FSA Stove. The control pad looks like it's working but oven bake and broil does not heat at all. It does make the clicking noise like it is working.
Is this the clock/timer problem?

Thanks

The pilot adjustment screw is located on the back side of the oven temperature thermostat. Lift the cook top to access it. Use a flat screwdriver to adjust... counter clockwise= bigger flame.

SOURCE: Tappan gas kitchen oven will not heat

Almost always a weak oven igniter. Remove oven floor by removing 2 screws at rear of floor. Remove flame spreader from burner, if it has one. Turn on oven and see if igniter gets red. It's the caged thing on burner tube. If it does but doesn't light gas, replace igniter. UNPLUG UNIT FIRST!!
Put dishwashing soap on threads of 2 screws holding igniter in place. This will allow it to come out easier. Do-not use oil. It will make your oven smell like a diesel truck.
Remove screws. You will have to remove drawer in front. Underneath you can fin wires from igniter. These will be cut at igniter and connected to igniter with enclosed wire nuts. The 2 wires to igniter go either way.

Stove on bake didn't get above 265 and never red.

It is possible the bake element has gone out and just the broil element is heating the oven. It is very common that the broil element is either powered by 120 volts while the bake element is energized in bake or it is pulsed by an electronic control.

Tappan oven won't come on

follow this steps and fix it.God bless you
Power Cord
If the power cord fails you still may have the control portion working but no bake or some other functions. The reason this happens is the oven takes in 220 volts then splits that to 2 110 lines. Some for the controls, lights, bake and broils elements, and stove top. If your cord has failed on one half of the 220 line or the terminal block were the wires are connected may have melted or failed. You may need to replace the power cord and terminal block.

Heating Element
This is usually the problem. To Check this first turn oven on to a bake setting, say @350, check to see if element glows, if not shut oven off. If it is warm but does not glow it is getting power and the elements need to replaces. If it does not get warm remove the element and check to see if it is getting power if it does get power replace the element. No power it is the main control that has failed. Check element for continuity, if none replace.

Temperature Sensor
This is a long thin tube like part located usually in the top rear of the oven. It is held in by 2 screws. This can easily be removed by removing the 2 screws and carefully pulling it out. Usually there will be wires connected and insulation so you will need to work it out. Then unplug the connector and check with an ohmeter. It Should have around 1000-1100 ohms if not replace sensor. Some will have a thin capillary tube attached in this case the problem will be in the control attached to this tube.

Main Control
This can cause your oven not to heat. Sometimes the oven relay gets burned out, when this happens the control is unable to send power to the bake element. There will usually be separate relays for bake and broil if you have 2 different elements. If your heating element gets no power replace the control. If your control does not respond at all check to if youhave power entering the control. If you do and it does not respond replace control board No power to the control Check or replace the power cord .

UPPER OVEN WORKS, LOWER OVEN DOES NOT, NOT ERROR CODE

THINGS TO CHECK:

the broil element
is the heating element that is found at the top of the oven and produces a very high heat for broiling. If the broil element isn't working, you should first do a visual inspection for signs that the element has blistered or separated. If the element appears normal then you can check for continuity with a multi-meter. Remove power from the appliance before performing this test. Remove the back panel and locate the terminals for the broil element and inspect the terminals and wires for signs of overheating or damage.

If there is no continuity then the element will need to be replaced. If the wires are damaged then they will need to be repaired. If the element is ok then you will need to check the broil circuit to determine the cause. This involves live voltage checks and should only be performed by qualified persons. Components to check include fuses, if the range is equipped, and oven control thermostat or electronic control. Depending on the manufacturer of the element, you will normally read between 19 ohms and 115 ohms

The bake element
is the heating element that is found at the bottom of the oven. Most electric ovens use both the bake element and the broil element in a bake cycle, with the bake element performing 90% of the heating. If the bake element isn't working, the oven may not heat. To help determine if the bake element is defective you should first do a visual check. If the element is blistered or separated then it should be replaced. If the element appears to look normal, then turn the oven on to a bake function for a minute and then turn it off.

Check the element for signs of heating and if it is still cold then it may be defective. Disconnect the power and then remove the back panel. First check the wires as they may have become loose or corroded. If the element appears to be fine visually, test it for continuity with a multi-meter. ( by placing the each of the meter prongs on each end of the heater element connectors) If the element is burned or no longer has continuity, it will need to be replaced. Depending on the manufacturer of the element, you will normally read between 19 ohms and 115 ohms

The oven safety valve
(also called the gas valve) is the part that ensures that gas is not released until the igniter has reached the correct temperature needed to ignite the gas. While this part can fail, it is uncommon. If the hot surface igniter does not glow you should first verify that you have voltage to the circuit. This is a live voltage check and should be performed by a qualified person. If voltage is lost at the valve terminals then you should verify the continuity of the bi-metal in the valve using a multi-meter.

Tappan oven "turns on" by "itself" ??? Control

I cannot solve this problem yet. We have the same problem. However in ours if we turn the temperature know to off (the other knob is set to off - time bake, bake, broil, clean, etc - set to off) then it will not run. Somehow that temperature knob with the electrical control is making it turn on. Ours started to do this on the same day!

GE Profile Stove baking option not working

Possibly the bake igniter, the temperature sensor or the electronic oven clock/control. Does broil mode heat properly or does it run cool also? If broil heats to the proper temperature then the temperature sensor is probably ok. That leaves the ignitor or the controller which takes some more troubleshooting. If it is the controller, we repair them at www.fixyourboard.com.
