did you remember to change the type of dish? You have to change it to the appropriate type dish (forget which one I did just last weekend) but it's like one of the first few choices.

I've heard of this problem occurring occasionally when using non-powered multiswitches. These multiswitches draw their operating power (for the switch itself, and for all of the LNBs) from one or more of the receivers. In some cases, the receiver or receivers providing the power can't provide enough, either due to receiver limitations or to excessive voltage drop in the coaxial able. In these cases, when the primary receiver changes its LNB drive voltage (to switch to a different polarization sense) the multiswitch and/or other LNBs lose power for a moment, and suffer a glitch.
The surest way to eliminate this problem is to use a multiswitch with its own (wall-wart) power supply.
For non-powered multiswitches, it can help to try switching the receivers to different ports. I believe that some multiswitches draw most of their operating power from the receiver on jack #1, and it can help to make sure that the receiver on this jack is a newer model (the multi-satellite-capable models tend to have more robust LNB power supplies).

I am having a similar problem with my D6520. In my case, it appears that the switching relays are contaminated or going bad. Sometimes when I change channels that cause the multiswitch to change LNB ports, the (non-TiVo) receiver will show "Searching for satellite signal". If I jump to the previous channel then back to the new channel, the signal comes in. It's like the relay needs to be exercised.
If I plug directly into the LNB, I never see this problem.

Is your multi-switch powered? If not, how long is your cable run? Generally the multi-switch should be powered if you have more than 100 feet of cabling.
