Alesis SR-16 Battery holder

I have an older Alesis SR-16 that must have had the battery holder removed. Does anybody know where there is a circuit board diagram available on the internet, or what type of battery holder goes in it?

SOURCE: HI , MY ALESIS RS-16.

Cut and pasted info to replace the internal memory battery:

There is a battery inside the unit which is used to retain settings and beats that you program into it. This battery should probably last about ten years or so. If your SR-16 will not remember things anymore, it may need a new battery. Alesis can replace it for you, but this may cost $50.00 or so plus the cost and trouble of shipping. Anyone who can use a soldering iron can replace the battery. To disassemble the SR-16, remove the six screws on the bottom. There is a ribbon cable that connects the top and bottom together. This should be unplugged from the bottom part (main circuit board). The pins on the connector are very fragile, so pry it up carefully with a screwdriver. Also the volume knob has to come off. To remove the circuit board, just unscrew the nuts on the six phone jacks on the back. The battery is a coin-shaped 3-volt lithium battery. The one in mine is a Panasonic BR2325. If you buy a replacment battery, you will need to get one that has PCB terminals on it so it can be soldered. I THINK this is Panasonic part number BR2325-1HB (theres lots of different types of connectors on these). You will not find this at Walmart. It will need to be ordered from an electronics supply place. Digikey has them for $2.00. I think you can get one from Alesis for 15 or 20 dollars.

SOURCE: I just purchased a used Alesis SR-16 Drum Machine

There is no way to check the internal battery status, unfortunately.
Chapter 7:10 of the manual deals with backups and available memory. :

1. Press the BACKUP button.
2. Use the Page (up and down) buttons to select different "pages" of functions; the display's
lower right window shows the page number. These pages are described below.
3. Adjust values on pages, if necessary, as described for each page.
4. After performing the desired backup operation, press BACKUP again to exit, or choose
another page.

How do i transfer patterns from one sr-16 to another?

There are two ways. 1st way is to use the tape out and a 1/8 to 1/8 cable connected to a tape recorder or computer. And use the send thru tape function. while recording. then on the second one reverse the cable. And use the tape in function. The 2nd way is to copy beat for beat in the quantize mode by hand onto paper, the reprogram each sound(beat) back into it.

I just purchased a used Alesis SR-16 Drum Machine and am wondering how to check the status of whatever method (internal battery, etc.) is used within the unit to keep its patterns, songs, sounds in storage...

Multimix 16 usb 2.0 is no longer recognized by computer. Tried multiple cables and 2 computers. Could the usb port on the mixer be fried? Can I get a replacement usb board for this mixer?

Same thing happened to mine when I first got it. Alesis replaced the USB chip at no charge. Worked for a while, but now I only get 10 inputs instead of 18. Love this mixer on so many levels but the USB on it is completely unreliable. When the USB works, it works great. The problem is getting it to stay working. I suggest contacting Alesis for a repair. I'm still wrestling around with them over my 10 input issue. They say when they tested it there was no trouble found. I'm not convinced this is the truth. Good luck!

No power

Take a breath...
We need to know a few details here
Colors of the wires? Are wires broken on the power supply or did the power jack come out of the mixer? If they are broken INSIDE the mixer, what happened in there, anyway?
Have you checked Alesis's website for tech support or documentation? 'Cuz that is what any of us would have to do. They're really good at this kind of support. or you could call Alesis at (401) 658-5760

The volume is noisy to a certain point.

try to clean the vol. control with some elctronics parts cleaner, it comes in an aresol and you spray it into the pot, the crackling is dust or dirt in the potentiometer<pot> this is a common problem on older machines that havent been used in a while or live in a dirty enviorment.

No power-up on Sr-16!!!

Hi,in the manual it explains somewhere how to reset the unit. I think you hold down the play button and the erase button at the same time while powering up the unit.

USB problem

If you call Alesis technical support number, you can find a dealer. I had a hard time finding one who could fix mine in less than a month, but there are some chain music stores who stock the parts.
