Have the same problems. How did you solve this?

  • hauntedheart Feb 08, 2009

I have the same problem. The black bobbin case moves counterclockwise. There is a metal band and a small "nib" in the case that the thread passes through, but the "nib" passes the metal band, and the bobbin case spins, and the machine jams.

My bobbin case slides and it causes my needle to hit it and jam up. My machine also doesn't pick up the bobbin thread when it sews.

i have the same broblem and i figured it out. there is a small metal peice that keeps the bobbin case from spinning. this peice is tiny and easily bent. if it gets bends the bobbin case spins to far and whne the needls goes down it hits the bobbin case, causeing it to bend or break. how ever i do not know what this smal medal peice is called or how to repplace it! any suggestions?

Im not sure if this will help but thought I would pass it along. My Pfaff 6122 tells me to check bobbin for thread unrolling clockwise before you place it back in the machine. I had mine turned to un roll counter clockwise, this is wrong, the bobbin will fall out when you pull on the thread while you are holding it in your hand. You may just keep putting it in backwards. Hope this works for you. J.R.

Brother CS6000 computerized machine bobbin case moves and locks up

The Black bobbin case more than likely is not installed correctly.
The machine just won't sew with it rattling about in it's space.
Machines do have levels of quality. Proper maintenance is a must for any busy sewing machine who's owner is expecting a trouble free use.

E6. Motor locked up because the thread is tangled. I have re-threaded machine and bobbin; thread still tangles after 2 or 3 stitches. HELP!

In my Brother CE-4000, it appears as though the feed dogs (which you can change to a higher position or a lower position) are allowing the bobbin case to spin all the way around and then the needle hits the bobbin case. When the feed dogs are in the lowest position, the bobbin case does not spin all the way around when the needle moves up and down (and therefore the needle does not get stuck in the bobbin case. I am wondering if this is a problem with the feed dogs/case?

I have install the bobbin like the directions say , Everything is assembled right yet the sewing machine needle will not pick up the thread from the bobbin. It has always worked in the past. Please advise

Make sure that you have pulled the thread through the tension spring on the bobbin case and the tension spring in the bobbin case area on the the machine and hold the thread out so that when the needle comes down, as you move the wheel slowly towards you, it will hook it.

I was sewing and all of a sudden it started to slow down and stopped. Have tried to sew again and sounds like it is jammed. I have taken machine apart and there is nothing visible that can be in the way....

Please try removing the bobbin case and then move the wheel. It is very likely that the bobbin case came out of place and causing the machine to lock up.

I have a Singer XL5000 machine, the normal looking bobbin is not spinning with the shaft and wont wind what have I done wrong?

Is your bobbin case holding in place right? See if you can jiggle it back and forth to see if it moves. If it does move, it may have unattached itself in it's inner-casing.

My bobbin case would just go back and forth in the casing. Make sure that your needle plate is inserted right, as it locks the bobbin case in. You may have to unscrew the needle plate, take out the bobbin case, place it back in - pushing it to your left as you glide the needle plate back into place. (go from front to back while inserting). It should catch your bobbin case and lock it into place. Hope this helps. If not I would suggest you take it in for repair. Good luck.

My brother PE-400 sewing quit sewing

The "race" on your machine needs adjusting. Remove the bobbin cover, bobbin, & case. What you have left is the race, it moves when you turn the large wheel on the top right of machine. The needle also moves up and down. There is a hook on the race that catches the needle thread. Try moving the race to the line up with the needle. It may take a couple of trys but it should do the trick. Also clean any threads that may be caught on or arround the race. Hope this helps!
