a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

My digicam is canon ixy AiAf. i can't see images and can't see whilw im taking pictures...what will i do..thanks...

If it's an S500 (IXY Digital 500), then get it fixed for free by Canon. This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager, and is a known defect for your particular model camera.. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free if you live in the US, Canada, and a select few other countries. If you live outside the US, contact Canon support for your country to see if they'll still honor the advisory (some still will, especially if you stress you knowledge that this is a known defect of the camera). They may also include free shipping both ways (free shipping varies with countries). This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please see this link for more info.

Hello! thnx for assisting me! I am having problems connecting my canon zr20 mini dv camcorder with the laptop.I got my camcorder in the usa but I live in europe and im having problems also converting from...

Most laptops use a 4 pin firewire connection as does your Canon.
Get a 4 pin to 4 pin firewire cable to connect. I assuma it's a PC and not a Mac, so use Windows Movie Maker to capture.

All editing applications can be user selected for PAL or NTSC, so stick with NTSC in MMaker.
You cannot convert video standards sucessfully simply by selecting PAL if the source is NTSC. You require specialist software or hardware conversions.

As a side point if you create an NTSC DVD it will play on PAL equipment.

I couldn't find a manual for the PAL version, but in the US, this model was the ZR20 and there is a manual available for viewing/downloading here. Even though the NTSC format is different, I suspect that the operating procedures are pretty much the same.

I have got a Canon Powershot SX100 IS, but when I connect it to the television to see the pictures they show on the TV in black & white. Can you help ?

  1. Press the Menu button,
  2. go to the Setup "Tools" menu,
  3. scroll down and select the "Video System" option.
  4. If you live in the US, set it to "NTSC" video format if it's in Pal. You may have to select Pal for television in some countries overseas. Either way, set it to the other option than you currently have selected.

That should do it.

Canon mv 830, grey horizontal lines across screen when replaying and a flashing red symdol which looks like a bowl with a slash across it and an arrow pointing down into it

Hi - I have just managed to fix this issue of grey stripes across my screen on playback on my canon mv800 by going into the audio format settings in the menu and changing the format from 12 bit to 16 bit - good luck everyone else! Sharon

Changing video default from ntsc to pal

When transferring movies to the computer, the format is a digital format (mjpg), and will play on the computer using QuickTime. If you want to play your movies directly from the camera to a television, you will need to select either NTSC or PAL in the menu system on the camera. Go to this link and type "ntsc or pal movie" in the search window in the center of the screen and click on the Search button. Select the first answer (When connected to a television. . .) and you will find instructions on how to do this.
