Hi welcome to fixya
do you mean the dvd player won't turn on ?.if no power at all you will need to unscrew to open the cover.now if you want a DIY... you must have the necessary tools like phillip screw driver and digital tester. then you must check first the fuse at the power supply unit if blown. the power supply, this is where the power cord connected if the fuse is totally burned before you replaced the fuse you will need to check shorted diode and transistor which cause of the fuse to blown. and then just replaced the fuse with then same rating capacity that is label in the board. thanks hope this can be helped, feel free to ask further solution just let me know if this is what you asking for, i'm glad to help you to diagnosed and fix the problem.

No power

hi since the problem with your unit is no power check first the power line if present and then the power cord might be broken.if those mentioned are ok you will need to open the cover with your unit to access the internal part. now look for the power supply replace blown fuse and check if their are burned component parts. replace leak and bulged capacitors which cause low voltage. good luck i hope it will help you thanks.

Hi, thats look like its the power supply,
a zener diode and some caoacitor or its could be the fuse

DONT KNOW HOW TO BURN DVDS

you need to buy a program to burn dvds... NTI cd&dvd maker is a good low budget burning suite.
Or goto www.magix.com and dowload "Goya base" trial version . I believe it is free.

go to your BD player manufacturers website and look for firmware updates for your BlueRay player. You will need a removable device "thumbdrive" to load the files from your PC to your Blue Ray player.Alternatively you can burn the update file onto a DVD/CD and try installing it into your player that way.

Power will not turn on - plug is fine

Check the outlet first to make sure there is power. If the outlet is OK then unplug the DVD, flip it over and undo the screws holding the top on, then flip it back over, lift the back of the cover and slide off the lid. Follow the power cord to the transformer, and look for a small glass fuse. Pull out the fuse and make sure it isn't burned out. If it is burned, pick up a replacement at Radio Shack. If it isn't burned out, start looking for a repair shop, although considering how cheap they are these days, you may be better off just buying new. Don't poke around because you could get a nasty shock or do other damage to the delicate components.

After finalizing DVD will not play on other DVD players etc

You need to choose the correct option in your software before you burn a dvd if you want it to play on other dvds. Before you choose 'burn' look at the options on the page, it generally gives you two options, one option to burn to play back on your computer only and one option to play back on most dvds. Have a look around on the screen when you burn the disks
