When I bought my laptop acer ferrari 5000 with 2GB memory, I didn't experience any problem. but when I upgrade it to 4GB the lan network always shows unplugged and I cannot connect it to anything, I tried so many ways to solve this but the only way was to remove one of the rams (so it will have 2GB again) then everything goes fine. I think it has something to do with the bios. but my laptop has the latest bios update!

Well,it is practically not advisable to upgrade a graphic card for a laptop. You can always upgrade it on a PC, but with a laptop it is not the best thing to do.The graphic card has two categories, on-board and dedicated,if its an on board ,then you cant change it because it would require changing the motherboard. If its a dedicated graphic card, then you still can change or upgrade it,but it is not advisable ,because the other cards would not be compatible with your machine.

Hi there. I recommend you get another stick of SODIMM to replace what seems to be the faulty stick. If you are using XP or Vista X86 (32bit) then the system will only recognize 2.8 - 3GB of memory, only 64bit operating systems recognize the full 4GB.
Acer's support isn't the best. IMHO But go to their support site anyway and look up your laptops manual (there should be instructions on upgrading your RAM there). I did find that your machine will accept up to 4GB of RAM 2 X 2GB sticks. There should be a door or port (for easy user RAM upgrading) that is being overlooked, but again it is an Acer. Good luck.
