Question about Lexmark X8350 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

How come Alignment of Cartridge needs at each printing?

1) Everytime and each time I turn on the Printer 8350 and print something, it says Alignment Cartridge, I do what the screen told me to do, a page comes out with all the lines you know, after a few seconds, the screen says: Alignment cancelled and then I can print. Your ink is super expensive. Cannot afford Alignment Cartridge at everytime of printing.
2) Also when I open up the upper part, the cartridge did not go to the middle of the printer, it stayed on the left.

Very similar problem for me...I replaced both inks and now cannot get past the "alignment" screen. I've done the alignment...oh...6,000 times and it says something like, "Alignment problem, rerun it, or run a few cleaning cycles" - which I did once, but then watched the paper get loaded up with multiple colored stripes of my preciously expensive ink!!!

Very frustrating - and I don't see a solution. Oh, it also lists "check trouble shooting"...which is how I got to this post.

    -Not Happy!

I just go ahead to print and do with what the printer wants me to do. Because I just bought 2 black cartridges, when I use them up, I will buy another printer, different brand, I regretted that I bought Lexmark printer, the ink tube is so little and very expensive. I wish I still had the previous printer . It was still good and new, it has bigger ink tube (1 1/2 times) but the only reason I turned it down, because it was only for printing & copy, it does not have scan or fax which I very seldon use those. Thank you anyway.

I put in a new ink cartridge and I can't print....it keeps saying..."align printer". This has never happened to me before. What should I do? Thank you for your assistance.

You need to align a printer everytime you put a new cartridge in. It is a 2 step process
1 the printer will print an alignment page - usually coloured squares. 2 You then scan this page back into the printer - alignment is then complete.
this is the link to the manual page 42 through 44 explain about installing a new cartridge and the alignment process.

Hi, Wonder can you help my printer keeps printing off test page everytime it is turned on. this is only happening since i changed the cartridge, never did this before. thanks

Hi,

Your printer is printing alignment pages, because the cartridge alignment was not completed since you replaced them. Follow the below steps to complete alignment.

  1. Turn the printer OFF and then turn back ON.
  2. Wait until the alignment sheet prints out fully.
  3. Place the alignment test page over the scanner glass.
  4. Press start color scan button.
  5. The printer "power" light will start flashing, indication the alignment process.
  6. After the printer stops flashing, turn off and then ON the printer. It will not print any test pages further.
We need to run alignment test every-time while we replace ink cartridges.

Riztech
