Hit the power button and it clicks for one second and turn off.
dear mark i have the same problem to when i turn the tv on it will stay for 2 second and turn off do you have a solution for this please give me some help thanks.
There is a fuse blown in the television keeping it from staying on. after the shutdown press and hold the menu and device/input button for about 5 seconds and the led will blink a 2 digit code with a pause in between. the code will repeat itself. 2.2 is the most common and points to the convergence ics and 1 or 2 5a pico fuses. 2.3 is the next most common and points to a fault on the power supply. goodluck.

you have a component failure. begin checking the on-board fuses. that should lead you to the circuit that failed. most often it is the convergence circuit. 2nd most is a loss of vertical deflection. this is a tube protection circuit that shuts the set off before it destroys the crt's.
this isn't a notorious problem. many problems can cause this. the instant on/off behavior just says there is one of many fuses blown in the television. you can't just replace the fuse, when it fails get a failure code find out what it means and repair the problem. I would recommend paying someone to do it if you don't want to trash your mits set.
to get the code you hold down the menu and input button for 5 seconds after the on/off sequence. it is a 2 digit code with a pause inbetween, example 2 pause 2 pause 2 pause etc. is a 2.2 code
If you have no TV repair experience, or any experience tracing circuit flow with a schematic, call in a tech to assist you with this repair. This tv set is not the place to be experiementing inside of. You probably have bad capacitors in the power supply or the sweep power supply. Good Luck
