the remotecontrol kenwood model rc-r1008 came with the receiver model vr-3090 and also operates kenwood 200 disc cd changer model #cd-328om thru communication cables and system control cables

  • dixiesdandie Feb 06, 2009

I removed the batteries and held the power button for 30 seconds and tried again. It did not work. could it be the ir sensors in the receiver or the remote.

    did you get last message

the remote seems to work on tv^s cd player anda vcr it will not work the receiver functions at all including surround settings volume and tone. this remote has a [selecting the model type] feature witch i did along time ago. the book says the model type information is stored permanently ; even after resetting powertouch you will never have to reselect the type. however it doesnot seem to recognise the receiver and it wont let me reselect the model type . so it is either that or the ir input on the receiver one more question . on a parts page i found an optic receiving module ov part no#wo2-2591-05 for this receiver is this the ir receiver in terminal . there was no description available

thankyou manojro . resetting the receiver did the trick i found a couple of other things also that probably caused this mess apparently while cleaning someone pulled sl16 system control cable and a text cable loose i lost all my text from my 200 cd changer. oh well/ at least i have tunes now.

"First try replacing the batteries if you haven't already. If that doesn't help, try resetting the receiver. Simply unplug the receiver, then press and hold the power button on the receiver while you plug it back in. Turn the unit on, and the display should say 87.50 to confirm the reset. If the remote still does not work, use a digital camera as an eye, face it towards the IR of the remote control. Depress any of the remotes buttons; you should see IR flash each time a button is pressed. If not then the problem is with the remote. If the remote works fine, then the problem is with the receiver. In order to determine the cause of the problem, I suggest you take the defective unit to a Kenwood authorized service center for evaluation.

The second fix involves some very simple soldering, and has been endorsed by many as the solution:

I hope this helps. Good luck and please let me know if this solves your problem!

Hi

What is the model and brand of the remote controller and also the brands and models of devices your using it with. Is this a universal remote controller or did it come with a spesific device?

And the remote works with other devices but this one receiver has stoped showing the led when ir signal is incoming, do other devices that run on ir work with the remote?

If the spesific receiver doesn't work with the remote but others do, the issue is most likely in the receiver, try reseting it or unpluging it for a few minutes and try again, if the ir light doesn't light up. It would sound like a problem with the ir receiver.

I have an old Technics SA-GX300 receiver that works fine except that the screen indicates that muting is on (still produces volume but at much lower levels). I lost the remote to the receiver. Is there...

Reliance on the remote instead of walking across the room to touch the unit will not solve anything. On many receivers, Muting is cancelled if the volume knob is turned to a louder level. Try that.

There's a used original remote for $12 delivered on eBay right now.

Hi. my original remote for my onkyo tx ds575 all of a sudden is not working anymore. the red light on the remore still lights up when i press a button but the receiver is not picking it up. hopefully you...

The red light on the remote just means the battery is good and the remote is responding when you press a button. It doesn't mean the control is actually sending out a signal. Many retail stores have a tester that will tell you if the remote is transmitting. Another possibility is that the remote sensor in the receiver has gone bad, and that the remote is fine. A universal remote (One-4-All URC6131, for example) that can work home theater receivers can be used to test the receiver. It may not work all the functions, but if it turns the receiver on and off you'll know the remote is at fault and not the receiver. Then you'll be able to replace the remote or have the receiver serviced as needed.

Where can i find a cheap RemoteControl for my "Yamaha RXV520 Receiver"? it could be also a replica or generic. thanks, Arik

Original $61, copy $39

http://remotes.com/remotes/servlet/rs?v=1&o=c&o=c&a=Search&uid=0&m=rxv520&uuid=A12997127730091

The model forthe remote is RAV206.

If you lurk around eBay and search for "rav206 remote" or "RXV520 remote" and check the "include description' box, you may eventually find one for cheap.

Inputs of signal are not being recognized my tx-sr607 anymore

The intended function of connecting video on most receivers is to take advantage of the on board digital video processing to upconvert the signal in attempt to improve the picture quality. However, it still is always best to connect any picture producing device directly to your television in your case...the PS3 video output is not in need of any upconverting. Modern televisions of most manufacturers of LCD, Plasma and DLP and their variants can upconvert video to their native resolution automatically, depending on the video input used. Most televisions on the market today can upconvert component video input resolutions of 480i/p to 720P or higher for example.

As for the malfunction of the remote, there may be some signal interference. The PS3 has an on board wireless internet connection that is very powerful. Try moving the PS3 farther from your receiver.

the unit requires original remote for all its functions to work properly.as with other same type of remote the unit is detecting the remote but that remote is not completely supportive to your remote.each remote has its IR code.that IR code supports that particular brand model of unit.the remote which you are using is having bit different IR code from the original remote.so the unit is not detecting all the command from that remote. try getting the original required remote made for this unit. you can also check out getting remote from on-line sites like www.walmart.com ------ www.radioshack.com ------ www.bestbuy.com ------- check out.keep updated.thanks.

Unable to view setup menu on TV screen

I had this same experience and after hours of attepts to fix it (including the suggestions on this site) I found that the company that installed and set up my system literally disabled the "set up" on the remote so that it could not be changed. To fix this (and/or confirm that this may be your problem) reference page 39, "all reset functions" to reset your remote back to factory settings. As soon as I did this and hit "set-up" -- the set up menu popped up and worked appropriately. Hope this works for you!
