Question about Fuji Rod Repair Kit

6 Answers

My A330 will not take photos.

The camera switches on. I can look at previous photos, but when I pull back the shutter to take a picture, it refuses to click and work, and the screen shows no image. The shutter is reluctant to return to the closed position and I have to ease it back and forward to get to close and the lense to retract. I have read through the trouble shooting pages in the manual and nothing seems to cover the problem. I have tried new batteries. I have tried to clean as well as I can. I don't know what else to do.

the camera problem continues as before. No photo. No click. Retraction reluctant. The memory card provides for 128 exposures and there are only 15 to 20 pictures to view.

  • johndarrall Feb 09, 2009

I have just tried your latest suggestion but there is response from the camera and no copying of the pictures onto the PC

  • johndarrall Feb 09, 2009

I'm afraid I am getting nowhere, and closer examination of the shutter is beyond my technical ability (which is non-existent). Please may I have my money back!

  • johndarrall Feb 09, 2009

you don't mention the money I have just given my visa card details for (9 dollars 99)

  • johndarrall Feb 09, 2009

    I give up

  • johndarrall Feb 09, 2009

only helpful in showing that the problem cannot be solved in this way, I'm afraid

  • johndarrall Feb 09, 2009

No, I don't think you can help any further, sad to say. I shall take the alternative route and buy a new camera on part exchange. Please cancel my visa card payment.

  • johndarrall Feb 09, 2009

    it is no solution

There is nothing in the user manual because there is no end-user fix.

Your camera has a bad limit switch that is not relaying correct information to the PLC.

Please take it to an authorized Fuji repair center.

There is nothing more you can do yourself.

Thank you for using FixYa - A FixYa rating is appreciated!!

Hi John

Wehn you have a jammed lens problem of this kind, that is usually because of dirt jamming the lens mechanics, or because the lens assembly had been damaged, usually after a shock.

In some case weak batteries, or oxide on battery contacts can give you same problem.

Ensure this is not a battery problem first, clean contacts with isopropyl alcohol and cotton tips.

The most likely is that this is a lens problem, in that case the lens must be disassembled at a repair shop, if you do not risk to damage the camera.

If you have not been able to fix the problem with regular maintainance, that means that the camera is faulty, and must be repaired.

Rather then disassembling it yourself, you should buy an extended warranty, and have it repaired and covered for three extra years.

Here is a warranty contract for $55: Blue Nook - 3 Year Extended Warranty

There are extended warranties for different countries available online.

This is cheaper but your camera must be still under warranty: FUJIFILM FinePix A330 3 Year Extended Warranty ...$29.95

The first thing to do is contact Fuji and see if your warranty is valid, or if this can considered a factory defect and replaced by manufacturer, you never know.

If Fuji does not cover you, purchase a warrant extension and repair the camera.

    Try a reset--
Reset: Resets all camera settings to their defaults.
and also format the memory card using a format option.
Note: you loose your data in both of case(reset or format).
    Thanks

I have a Fine Pix S 3000 camera takes Fuji film is digital how do I upload my pictures from my camera to my computer?

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

My SD card (FujiFilm - 2GB) has decided to make itself 'write-protected' after I transfered all of the photos to my pc & then deleted them from the card. Now it wont let me use it in my camera like it...

SD (and SDHC) cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

Fujifilm z20 zoom error

Hello

The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.

Use these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.

Firstly , try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.

Try holding the shutter button while switching on the camera.

Look at the lens , and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).

Try gently pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.

Another way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the camera is enough to get things going again.

Try hitting your camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of your hand.

Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair center for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to replace the camera.

If it is still under warranty I would suggest you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

You can also have a look at THIS link.

Hope the advise is useful. please do not hesitate to let me know if you need any further assistance.

Hi I have a fujifilm f470 finepix camera. One

Hi,
Is it just the live view from the lens that you can't see ( totally blank screen), or are the icons visible?
If it still shows the icons but no live view then I suspect the shutter mechanism is stuck over the lens inside the camera.
Have a look at the lens and see if you can see the inner lens? You may have to adjust the zoom to bring the inner lens up to the end of the lens barrel.
If it is stuck then it will require removing and inspecting / cleaning.

I receive a 'write error' message after I take a photo

There should be a little switch on your memory card when you pull it out. Slide the switch the opposite direction. The switch is very small and usually on one of the edges/sides. This is similar to how floppy disks had a write protection on them.
