My TOUCHPAD is not working!?!?

Here are the details.. the PC once had a broken screen and i replaced the screen with a spare toshiba laptop i had sitting around. FYI i had opened up the whole PC searching for options to get A LAPTOP running. i.e (i tried switching power outlets off the motherboards) looking for solutions. ANYWAYS, once i swapped screens i was able put together a operating laptop but my touchpad does not work..

so far i have tried installing updates and downloading touchpad drivers and i still havent been able to get it working... ANY SUGGESTIONS!?

OK, if you opened that chassis during troubleshooting, then the issue is most likely either the touchpad cable was disconnected in the troubleshooting process and not reconnected, or worse, the cable damaged during disassembly/reassembly and the inputs are not being received from the touchpad. So re-checking the cable connecitons from the palmrest to the motherboard are in order. (I've done it)

Also, check and ensure if there is an option in the BIOS to disable the touchpad, make sure it is enabled.

Touchpad not funjctioning on Toshiba Satellite L40/45 laptop

You might have inadvertedly disabled the touchpad.

1. Press Fn + F9 to enable the touchpad.
This key combination acts as a switch, enabling or disabling the touchpad: press once to enable (if it is disabled), then press again to disable.

2. If the touchpad still doesn't respond, check the settings in the mouse control utility.
Click on the touchpad icon on the right side of the task bar if you see one or click Start button/Settings/Control Panel, select the Mouse icon and Press Enter.
Change the settings if necessary.

Toshiba laptop touchpad not working properly

Boot Toshiba disk to your CD ram. If you are using Toshiba Satellite 2410 it will only work with CD marked with its own model or any model of it. Open CD drive and look for Toshiba touchpad driver and install this to your PC notebook.

Toshiba a300 synaptic touch pad scroller stopped working

Hi there.
The touchpad drivers could be corrupt, try reinstalling the touchpad drivers again.
Go here to Toshiba Support fill in the details of your model laptop and download the synaptics touchpad driver and reinstall it, see if that helps.
