I just checked the service manual. First of all does your copier have the options installed to print and fax?

    You can't e-mail without them.

Your copier must have the Scanner Option installed, otherwise you can't scan to email.

You can't use pop settings to send. You can use smtp to send. Pop will only recive e-mail. You will need the IP address of the smtp server (not the name) to get it to work. If you have the print and fax options installed on your copier.

Ricoh 2352 will not scan to email

could be alot of reasons for not scanning to e-mail, need more detail but here are a few common problems/settings. Go to counter/menu, then system settings, then go to "file transfer", add your smpt server name/IP and then smtp authentication if you have a smtp password, then scroll down to administrator e-mail address and put it in, then scroll down to auto add sender name and swithch it on, then go to "pop before smtp" and swithc it off, also swith off "max e-mail size"

How do i scan a picture to e-mail with HP 1350 all one

"Scan to email" feature is dependent upon the TWAIN and MAPI supported applications. TWAIN and MAPI (Message Application Programming Interface) are standards that relate to "Scanning" and "Scan to email" features respectively. Applications have to support these to make use of HP Director. Not all email accounts are MAPI supported applications. The following are the ones which satisfy the MAPI criteria.

Microsoft Outlook Express 6

Microsoft Outlook Express 5

Microsoft Outlook Express 4

Microsoft Outlook 2000

Microsoft Outlook 98

Microsoft Outlook 97

AOL E-mail Version 8

AOL E-mail Version 5

AOL E-mail Version 4

If you are not using any of the above email accounts, you need to configure your email account with Microsoft Outlook/Outlook Express to use this feature. After configuring, you can use the scan to Email feature by perfroming the following steps.

1. Open HP Director/ HP Solution Center.

2. Click Settings -->> Scan Settings & Preferences --->> Scan to... Setup.

3. Select the available destinations and add them to the front panel destinations.

4. While scanning, you will receive a window showing the scan details which contains the section "Where do you want to scan?". Select "Email".

Send error 3 smtp

The printer is trying to send E-mail.
It could be a "monthly-report" to the company that you've created a service-contract for the printer.

Or, it could be trying to send an E-mail to you after every "scan" that you do.

But, the printer needs to be configured, to nominate the SMTP-server to which it must connect, in order to "send" the E-mail. Work through the printer's configuration-screens, and enter the name of the SMTP-server -- it's the same name that you use within Microsoft Outlook (or Outlook Express).

I 've blocked a contact but I steel keep getting the same e-mail 10 /hr. What else do I need to do?

if it's not a spam email, try to contact the sender. it's possible that the problem is on their end and not yours. if you're using an email client such as outlook express, ms outlook, windows mail, etc. and on a POP setting, created a rule that will auto-delete the email.

Scan to email gives server response error in home network. SMTP server tried by IP address and DNS name. Port 25 Authorisation POP for SMTP. The other authorisation types give a network error straight...

I've just discovered that Ricoh's built in software only works if your SMTP server sends out without picking up password or authentication.
Having same issue and it worked fine when it was behind corporate firewall with the same connection settings (IP address) as the SMTP server.
Once I changed web hosting - it won't recognize the SMTP server or any authentication methods. According to IKON (Ricoh support for the USA) - your SMTP server has to have "relay exception"

When I try to send a picture I scaned to an email it keeps saying something about a pop 3 server not found

Do you use outlook express or outlook for your email or a server based email. If you use a server based email the scanner software is opening the program that resided on your pc which is not set up for emailing. That is why it says the pop 3 server is not found. You will need to attach the picture file to your email from within your hotmail or google or what ever web based email you use. Then send it.

Setting up Outlook Express on XP

Though you don't say, I infer from your question you have an Internet connection. Most people prefer to use "Web Mail" because it allows access from ANY computer. If you install a local client ( and I would NOT recommend Outlook ) you need a mail provider who provides SMTP and POP3 mailboxes and you inherit the setup issues you describe. If you have such a provider, I suggest you download and install Thunderbird from Your mail provider's support or "how to connect" page will have all the specific instructions you need to attach to their server.

Ricoh Aficio 1075 - SMTP error message

To use the scan to email function on your copier you need some settings from your internet provider (email setting specifically). Go into Outlook options and get your SMTP server, user name and password.

On your copier you need to change under User tools, system setting and file transfer and put these settings in. As long as your machine is set up for scan to folder thats all you should need.
