I ignored the installation info. being presented on the little screen, and proceeded with the installation as outlined in the directions. At one point in that procedure I again tried one of the buttons to the left of the screen (labeled Scan/Reprint, Start Copy Black, and Start Copy Color in the manual), and lo and behold, this time they worked as "arrow" keys. (They had not, earlier.) I am very annoyed at HP for neglecting to include this simple piece of info. in their manual, and thus wasting my time and that of the kind attempt at assistance by one of your volunteers.

I have an HP photosmart 6380 and I cannot set the printer to accept a 6 x 9 invitation; keeps telling me printer mismatch!

You'll need to check the printer settings and make sure you've set it up correctly, and fed the paper correctly. See this article for help.
If that doesn't work, make sure you don't have a barcode on the back of the printed paper. (see here.)
If you get any further error messages, you may be able to answer them with help from your home support page here.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.

I have Windows Vista with an HP Deskjet F380 all in one. It will print but will not scan. I have downloaded from HP the drivers and all updates, but still nothing.

From your description, it's hard to say why it won't scan....Does it start to scan, or is there no response from the scanner at all?
Try resetting the machine, then try again. (instructions here) Make sure it is set up correctly and do not connect USB until prompted by software (see here).
If that doesn't work, see this article and this article and make sure you have a good power source for your computer and printer. Also make sure you use a usb port on the back of the computer.

Are you sure you downloaded the right drivers, and the one's needed for your OS? Please check the canon link here. I would try reinstalling them just because your system is seeing the wrong printer to begin with.
The error message in the print queue can be troubleshot by using the windows help & support print troubleshooter (available from control panel>printers & faxes> printing troubleshooter) or using the windows event viewer to see what error code is reported and tracing the cause of the error that way...
Frequently in such a case uninstalling the printer drivers and installing them again will correct the difficulty...also see this MS link.

I can't fax....HELP

Yes. But your fax machine must be hooked up with a standard phone line to the jack on the wall, or to a computer linked to a standard phone line. You can't simply hook the computer up to a dsl ethernet cable and hook the usb cable up to the printer and expect fax services to work.
Hp has an excellent support site for use with it's printers, available by clicking here Please take a look at this fax set up link by clicking here to make sure the fax is set up properly, and if it is and you're still having difficulty, take a look at the main site solutions section to troubleshoot your particular machine.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
