Question about Xerox WorkCentre PRO-215 All-In-One Laser Printer

One side of mirror assembly sticks during copying

One side of the mirror assembly is sticking midway through the imaging process, but the other side continues normally. the result is a copy with a "st r e t c h" on one side.

how do i remove the glass to get to the assembly? i'm assuming it's a lubrication or debris problem.

i only had to remove the two screws on the right side, removed the right cover (the service manual only indicates to remove one screw) and gently lifted the glass out.

one of the clips which attaches the moving assembly to the wires had cracked and broken off, i used super glue and then duct tape to reinforce the repair.

that seemed to work fine, but now i have a new problem: L6 (with 10?)

i switched it on and off a few times, and now the printer is stuck in some kind of warm up loop. i will be posting another problem for this copier.

Those covers are sort of a pain to get off, but not impossible. You easiest way it to remove the screws form the left and right side covers, and pop them off. then also lift the feeder off, if you have a document feeder and take out the 2 smaller screws in the rear cover, because they over lap the glass covers . Then remove the glass. Just take your time, not hard at all. Most likely you will find something has slippped into the scan lamp path .

Directly below the drum section is an assemble called the transfer/separation assy. the purpose of this unit is twofold. (It houses to very thin gold plated wires) One wire is what helps the transfer of the image from the drum to the paper. Since the paper goes between this wire and the drum, the second wire prevents the paper from sticking to the drum during the transfer process. The code you have been getting means either wires might be broken, or has to cleaned (because of all the toner on it from the drum assy. which needs to be removed and cleaned. Or two white end blocks that hold the wires are getting old and allowing the High Voltage that is applied to the wire during the copy/print process to leak to ground. Open and close the front door to clear. If it comes back have a qualified tech look at it.

Tip

Code C0200 for the Minolta EP Model Series Machine.

Below the drum is an assemble that houses two very fine gold plated wires. They do two things since the paper goes above these two wires and below the drum. The first wire transfers the image on to the paper from the drum, the second one prevents the paper from sticking to the drum. One or both are bad, BROKEN? Remove the assy. and replace both. They are very fine and fragile do not lose the springs when replacing them. You can attempt to clean them with a pencil eraser, but you must BE GENTLE, stroke toward the spring. Also clean the assemble itself, with a rag be CAREFUL of the wire if you are doing it with them in installed. If that does not work you might have bad ends on the assy. After a while/years the plastic breakdowns and allows the voltage to go to ground. The wires carry around 2000 volts during the copy process. None during power off :) Open and close the front door to resets the code. If you need the parts try online ask for Corona wires or transfer/separation wires for you model machine.

Di 450 error code c-0210

Right below the drum section is an assemble that has two very fine wires in it. The assemble comes out by pulling it out. have the machine off. When you pull it out you will see to blocks one at each end well those blocks (White Looking) house the connectors for those very thin wires. Several thousand volts travel thru those connectors to the wires to do two things one wire helps transfer the image on to the paper because during the copy/print process the paper goes between both wire and the drum, the second wire prevent the paper from sticking to the drum. After a while with those high voltages going thru those blocks they breakdown and the voltages goes to ground vise the wires causing the machine to issue that code. Might find the those blocks or the whole assy at. the web site below. Open close front door to reset code. Precision Roller Printer Toner Cartridges Parts and Supplies Office...
