It's very possible that the fuse blew out when the power wire overheated. Check the fuse in the car for the cigarette lighter and see if it is out. Most cars will come with a set of fuses that you can use to replace the blown one. How to tell if it is blown - look at the fuse in good light. If you see the wire filament is broken, the fuse is shot. Just replace it and see if your TomTom will work again.

Charger gets very hot means the problem lies with charger which is not supplying the power to the system ... Try changing the charger ... and the charger wont cost u more than 15$
you could have a hydro lock preventing it from terning is the starter good ive had lotsof bad starters directly from the part store check the bat you need 12v and enough amps to tern it over the next thing is check for a good ground if you have a ground thats weak it wont tern over properly
you have a crots wier or bar wiers in the wiering to solve this you ned to
track the wiers amd put eletrikel tap arond war it is bar or put the wiers in the rit plas
Get hod of a proper jmper wiht slots for the wires. Ground being common all can to grounded via a single pin only..this is possible, but be careful while attaching the rest. Make sureu do not ground any other wire.....sodeep
most likely the power port is damaged and needs replaced.i repair those magellan gps if you need help. if i cant fix it there isno charge. [email protected]
