This is normal it take ALOT of force. I end up using a large hammer and a solid 2x4 to cusion the rim. Smacking it once good from the outside of the mower too. all this take place the the next morning after spraying in some pb blaster or similar anti seize spray into the axel.. and tilting the mower slightly. Dont use a torch it wont help. It only makes things hot and you will ruin the tranny seals.

I know its frustrating. expect that key way to be part of the problem in there to.

Hi Anonymous, and the usual suspects are:
1. Improperly loaded motorcycle. Non standard equipment on the front end such asheavy radio receivers, extra lightning equipment or luggage tends to cause unstable handling.
2. Incorrect air suspension pressure.
3. Damaged tire(s) or improper front-rear tire combination
4. Irregular or peaked front tire tread wear.
5. Incorrect tire pressure.
6. Shock absorber not functioning normally.
7. Loose wheel axle nuts.
8. Excessive wheel hub bearing play.
9. Improper vehicle alignment.
10.Steering head bearings improperly adjusted.
11. Tire and wheel unbalanced.
12. Rims and tires out of round or eccentric with hub.
13. Rims and tires out-of-true sideways.
14. Shock absorber improperly adjusted.
15. Worn engine stabilizer links.
16. Damaged rear engine isolation mounts.
17. Swing arm pivot shaft nut improperly tightened or assembled.
Good luck and have nice day

Rear wheel removal from craftman riding mower

Do you have the rim and tire off and you want to remove the hub?
I believe every rider mower and tractor I've had and worked on had the rear tire attached to the hub as in a car, with lug nuts or lug bolts. Check to see if there are four or five lug bolts that hold the rim onto the hub.

My John Deer L130 tractor needed a new tire so I bought one and put it on. Now it will not go into gear. It will not go forward or backwards. Why won't it go. Please help Tammy

This was a rear tire I assume. There's a square key about 2" long that fits in a groove in the axle and a slot in the rim. You probably pushed it out putting the wheel back on and didn't notice. Look where you took off/put tire on. It should be laying there.

I would like to change the front tires lawn mower

Remove the wheel from the mower.

Let all the air out

Lay the tire flat

Push on the tire to release the grasp on the diameter of the rim (use a malet if ou need to)

Apply soapy water to the tire and rim

Insert a standard screwdriver between the tire and rim and pry the tire over the rim in one spot

Then work the screwdriver around the rim, pulling the rest of the tire up and over as you
go

Repeat the last step for the other side of the tire, same side of the rim though!

Viola, there you have it. Shade tree mechanic at it best. And NO labor cost$$$!!!!!
