Dishwasher will not come on after cycle being interrupted

You may have to go back and restart the wash cycle. The internal timer gets confused and doesn't know where to resume washing.

Normal cycle doesn't work

These can get broken solder joints in the control panel which causes some cycles not to work, it is an easy repair if you are handy with tools

My dishwasher surges at the start and end of the cycle but still washes ok. Is this a problem, it doesn't sound right?

Some dishwashers depending on their programming rotate the motor impeller backwards at the start and end of the cycle to clear blockages, Also they can sound like they are surging if the water is a bit harder than it expects,
Keep and eye on the machine, as long as it doesn't demonstrate any other odd behavior it will be fine.

I cannot figure out how to advance a cycle without having to go through the entire cycle. For example, I had a drain problem with my sink and the plumber put the rinse and hold cycle on for about 10...

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

Your post doesn`t specify a model number, however on most Bosch dishwashers in order to change from "rinse & hold" to "regular" ( or any cycle ) simply turn the unit "on" and once the machine begins push the regular button twice.

Or the button applicable to the cycle you want.

That should change the display to look like this...

If this doesn`t work, try it for "econo" or any alternative and let me know how it goes.

Good luck.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

Dishwasher problem

My dishwasher Indesit DI67S will not run on the number 1 cycle. It will fill and then when that programme finishes it jumps straight to the drying cycle missing all the rinses out etc. If on the number 2 programme it goes all the way through but then doesn't dry. I've also noticed that the water doesn't seem to be heating up much and certainly isn't drying. Is this the element or something else? Once its reached the drying cycle the light for this just flashes then I have a job to try and reset the machine. It can take endless attempts. Will switching the machine off at the mains solve anything or is it the element?
Thankyou
