Pro 110, runs 10 min., blows white smoke ,shuts off

I have a Reddy Heater Pro 110, several years old, has been a good heater, usually run kerosene, recently running diesel #2, have run several tanks through, no problems, recently acting up, will run for 10-15 min., then blows puffs of white smoke sparatically until shutting itself down or me unplugging it, i have no manual, have turned screws, lost track of correct position, where are screws suppose to be set, do i have other problems, ive cleaned spark plug, replaced fuel filter, cleaned air filter, ANY HELP? THANK YOU.

Thanks Tinytrees, I have access to free diesel , I agree it does burn dirtier, aren't they suppose to run on diesel also? Could

I possibly mix 50/50 diesel-kerosene? what are the 2 screws for in the back? How do I adjust them once i get the guage? Thanks for the help. Larry

The first thing you need to do is go back to useing K1 kerosene, diesel fuel not only burns dirty but also has a tendency to gel up in cold weather which could be makeing it hard for the heater to draw the proper amount of fuel. To reset the pressure you will need a gage, it should run at about 6-7 psi. you can order a pressure gage from mr. heater online, they are by far the cheapest I have found as they are the actual manufacturer or call 1-800-251-0001

No reason you couldn't mix your fuel, it would definitly help some. the screws on the back are for the pressure. the gage will plug into the the air line that runs from the motor to the burner nozzle, clockwise turns the pressure down and counter clockwise up.

Reddy Heater will not ignite flame

Please answer the following questions. There are several folks on the board that can help but we need to know some vital information so we can get started. Answer these, if you can:
  1. Which Pro 110 do you have. We need the exact model number. Pro 110 is a series of heaters.
  2. Does the heater have a spark plug or a glowbar (HSI)?
  3. When the motor runs is it pumping fuel?
  4. When the motor runs is the spark plug firing (or glowbar glowing)?
