Question about Samsung HLS4676S Television
Glad I found this site. I went to turn on my tv yesterday and it heats up the lamp and is nice and bright, here the color wheel spinning up and etc. I see on the front lamp light flashing 3 times then goes to 3 solid leds across the board flashing for 3 times, then switches to standby/temp and lamp flashing together. Now the strange part is I have remove the lamp access panel and there is a blue saftey switch. I hold that down and have some one unplug the tv and turn it back on and the lamp and temp lights dont flash together just lamp. When I let go of the switch the lights go back to flashing together. I really dont think the lamp is shot, I think its the ballast. How can I tell the ballast is blown or the lamp? Sorry for the long story just confused. One thing I would like to say is this tv is very easy to work on. Looks like the ballast box slides out. Can someone email me? email@example.com or reply to me.

SOURCE: No picture, new lamp
Did you reset the hours on the lamp with the menu options on your set? Sometimes, if you do not do that it can mess with the tv performance thinking that its over hours. It needs to be reset to 0 again...

SOURCE: Samsung DLP will not turn on
If your having the "3 light" problem it could be an indication of a bad lamp however if there is a buzzing or a grinding sound it could be one of two moving parts. The color wheel or the cooling fan. I would go the cheaper route and replace the color wheel first. The thing is the lamp will not turn on if there is a problem with one of the other two parts. TRUST me ... I've replaced all three parts just to find out it was only the cooling fan. (at least I have another lamp handy when the new one goes out). The motor on the cooling fan is too small for such a big fan so I would definately try it first. It's a big problem with the DLP tvs. Hope this helps.
