I recently had my garage door opener intalled and it worked while the guy was here, but later that night it would not work. I called the people who installed it and they refused to come back out and look at it (never using them again!!). It's a craftsman 1/2 HP model # 139.53985D. It almost seems like theire is no power going to the unit, but I checked the breaker and the plug and they are working. The lights will not even come on. It's not the sensors, they are also working fine. Both lights are lit and none are blinking. The light on the wall mounted door control is off and the car openers and the ouside opener are not working either. I disconnected the wall mounted door control from the unit and tried the car remote and that didn't work (suggestion from another post). Any ideas or is it just fried and I wasted $200 on installation and $200 on the unit??
Wall switch is not in lock mode is it?
No light at all on your opener? Zero none on your sensors or on your wall control? What about on the opener it self do you have lights in it? it really can only be two things I can think of. with otu seeing it One guy said check you wires. I would say tahts a great place to start I would unplug the wall control wires. Sometimes not too much with newer openers but if they got a staple in the wire it can cause a dead short. When you unplug the wire from the open it's self. Try it. If that does not work try plugging in something to the plug where the open is at. And make sure its not on a switch. Oh one last thing when you use it remote or wall control do it make any sound at all?

I have the same problem. Any movement at all.
joboo1; what about fact that door control is not lit. I would check wiring (even though you said it did work at first). Red to r, Whites to W and Black to B, How did you pay, Stop check or stop credit card payment. I back my work for ONE YEAR.
Hi, It could be several things and long distance troubleshooting is tough so bear with me. First thing you need to do is pull the door release and slide the door beyond the catch as it sounds like the limit switches are the problem. If you can't pull the release it may have too much pressure on it. If it releases, push the button and see if you get any movement. Let me know what happens.
