This will loose the data already loaded to ipod. Turn on the iTunes and plug the ipod to that computer. wait until it recognizes the ipod when you see the name on the left side bar right click on it and rename it.

Can I sync two different iPods to the same computer

1. The automatic settings in iTunes and iPods will not allow you to sync two iPods with one version of iTunes or sync an iPod with multiple versions of iTunes without the content being completely erased from the iPod. 2. This can be very aggravating if more than one person in your household owns an iPod or you want to add music from a friend's iTunes library to your iPod. Changing the iPod settings through iTunes will let you sync more than one iPod on one computer.

3. Open the iTunes software. Connect one of the two iPods to a USB port found on the one computer. If a small window opens in iTunes after the program recognizes the iPod, you can close the window by clicking "No" or the "X" in the window. 4. Click the name of the iPod positioned under "Devices" on the left side of iTunes. When you highlight the iPod name, a variety of tabs will appear at the top of the iTunes program. 5. Choose the "Summary" tab and options will be listed in the middle of the program. Select the option labeled "Manually manage music and videos." If a window opens, click "OK." 6. Click "Apply" in the bottom right corner to change the settings on the plugged in iPod. Leave iTunes open. Repeat steps 2-6 with the second iPod you want to sync on the one computer.

I bought a used ipod from a friend

Itunes doesnt let you get the content off of the ipod and put it on your computer because then nobody would download music but just share it. There are lots of programs out there for this, some free and some cost money. The ones you pay for are more legitimate but the free ones should work as well. www.download.com and websites like that should have something. I cant think of any names.

How do I change the device name on my ipod nano??

Hey jenipoo,

With most models, users may typically change the device name of their iPod by changing it through iTunes.

You would first need to start iTunes with your iPod connected to your computer. Once iTunes is up and running, you'll probably want to use your computer's mouse to highlight the device. After waiting a couple of seconds, you should be able to click once on the current device name to open "edit mode," which allows you type in the desired name. Simply hit the "Enter" key once you've typed in the new name, and you should be set.

Alternatively, you can right-click on the name of the device on Windows-based PC's to open a dialogue box with a "Rename" option. Simply left-click on the "Rename" option, and again you should be able to type the device name of your choosing.

Please keep in mind that this may not apply to every iPod model, so you may wish to refer to your owner's manual documentation for more information.

Hope this helps you out.

Sincerely,
Aaron

Try restoring iPod touch using iTunes.

Connect iPod touch. When it appears in the Source list, click on Restore in the Summary tab.

Note: This will delete all media and data. All settings will be reset as well.

My ipod displays ENTER CODE X X X X what is it???????????? it would take over1 million attempts to guess, please help it is my daughters

You have to connect to the "Primary Computer" the iPod was first used on. If you can't do that and you have to guess the number, there will be only ten thousand different numbers, not millions! Start at 0000, then 0001, then 0002 until you reach 9999.
