Place a check in the box next to your choice and then click "Next" to continue.
Wait while Windows searches from the driver using Windows Update, if this was your choice.
An active Internet connection is required for Windows to successfully do this. Allow the computer to install the driver and then reboot the system for the webcam to become recognized by the system.
Otherwise, you can use the system recovery disc or a driver downloaded directly from your laptop manufacturer to install the driver without using the Windows Update search feature.
Open the CD/DVD-ROM drive and insert the system recovery disc, or place the driver downloaded from the manufacturer in an easily accessed file directory on your PC, such as on the desktop, or in your "My Documents" folder.
Choose the option "Install the software automatically (Recommended)" in the "Add a device" application, and press "Next" to begin searching for your webcam driver.
The hardware wizard will search the system recovery disc and install the driver automatically. Press "Finish" to close the wizard and then reboot the computer to allow recognition of the webcam.
Choose the option "Install the software manually" in order to browse to the driver location where you saved the driver and install it from there.
Use the opened file manager and locate the driver.
Click the "Next" button to install the driver, then reboot the computer to add webcam functionality.

Yahoo! Messenger offers voice services, such as PC-to-PC, PC-to-cell or PC-to-landline calling. You can also participate in chat rooms and use the voice chat feature instead of typing. However, slow connection speeds or improper settings can interfere with voice activation in Yahoo! Messenger.

  2. Step 2 Verify your Internet connection speed if your friend's voice sounds choppy. The computer modem speed must be 56K or higher in order to send voices or sounds.
  3. Step 3 Go to "Actions" and "Call Setup" in Yahoo! Messenger if you can't hear, or your friend can't hear you. Test the sound by following the instructions that proceed call setup.
  4. Step 4 Click on the speaker icon in the lower right corner of your computer screen if you want to test the sound manually. Uncheck "Mute," if necessary, and make sure sound levels are above 50 percent.
  5. Step 5 Pick "Preferences" in Yahoo! Messenger if you have trouble with connecting to the voice server. Choose "Connection," then select "No Proxies." Log in to Messenger again to check the voice server.

How do I install my Logitech webcam? My niece uses Yahoo Messenger, but when I tried to install it, my home page chanaged to Yahoo and numerous popups appear daily.

Hello,

Let me explain the procedure on how to install the Webcam.

Procedure is same for all Brand Webcams.

First disconnect the Webcam from the Computer. Insert the Webcam driver disks and follow onscreen steps to complete the installtion.

In between the installtion, it will ask you to connect the Webcam. There you have to connect the Webcam, then small installtion will run and Cam will be ready to use.

If it won't ask you to connect the Webcam, then after completing the installtion you can connect the cam.

Comming to the Home page and POPups issue.

While installing the Webcam driver by following the onscreen steps, somewhere there will be checks for "Set Yahoo as home page" or "Install yahoo or Google tool bar etc" you have to uncheck all those kind of things while installing the driver software.

Anyhow, I will also provide steps on how to change the Internet explorer home page and Block POPups.

Here are the steps to change the Home page of Internet Explorer:

1. Open Internete explorer.

2. Click on Tools Menu--Internet Options.

3. Under Homepage, Enter the Website you want to set as default and press Enter (Eg: www.google.com)

4. Click Apply--ok

To block the POPUPs:

1. Open Internete explorer.

2. Click on Tools Menu--Internet Options.

3. Click on Privacy Tab

4. Check box for BLOCK POPUPS

5. Click Apply--Ok.

Hope that helps you!!
