Fisher VCR FVH 2509 VCR won't power on

We are at a vacation rental home and trying to use the VCR. It was not plugged in at first. We plugged it in and it powered on but the TV on this floor was too complicated so husband walked it upstairs to plug into that TV. The power will not go on. It is not the receptacle, we have tested it and tried other receptacles, it simply won't go on. Is there a reset button to these things? We opened up the guts and there's no obvious smoking gun. We really want to watch this tape on catching lobsters! help!

Thanks for the suggestion. We will try it but I have pressed every button on this danged machine about 20 times and therefore I doubt it will work. Anyway, my other half took it apart to try to eject the lobster tape. I googled ejecting tapes manually but after several dead internet ends, he took screwdriver to machine and we played around with it for an hour but tape is still stuck in place and no power on. Ugh!  The tape never engaged so we were only looking to activate the expulsion mechanism, but we could  not get any gears to move the tape up. there are no obvious broken belts, no inactive gears, still won't power on or eject tape. The unit year is marked 1994 so it's not young, but what gives!
    Thanks for the reply.

One of the buttons in front - or the power button itself - may be stuck. Try pushing, tapping, and gently pulling each of them.

Good luck !
