Olevia 537 TV has suddenly decided to not respond to channel up-down button on remote; I think I chose "Showroom" instead of "Home" at initial start-up; can't do anything to auto-tune channels, etc.... thanks, GD
Re: Channel selector does not work; can not auto tune
Sorry not be able to solve the problem. I have exactly the same problem. So it is not related to anything you've done. Something faulty in the TV. It happened after 1.5 years in my case. Any tech support link appreciated

you can program the channel manually, just press the menu button in the tv panel. select preset and then manual fine tuning to tuned every channel you want to watch and then save it.to make a manual fine tuning, press manual then select channel you want to tuned and then press vol. up/down button to search right frequency channel.do this process in every channel you want to tuned. hope this can help.
Press the [i+] or MENU button on the remote control to display the DIGITAL INFO menu.
Press the BLUE button to display the MAIN MENU.
Press the UP or DOWN buttons to highlight AUTO TUNING then press the OK button to display the AUTO TUNING MENU.
Press the RED button to start the auto tuning process for all available digital channels.
Wait for the process to complete.
If you wish to CANCEL the auto tuning process whilst it is processing then press the BLUE button at any time. You may lose some channels when you retune the TV as the channels have been rearranged. To locate them look at the EPG although you may still find that some channels are no longer available on FREEVIEW. See the following link for additional information http://www.freeview.co.uk/_retuneinfo/ If the above process does not work then check the link above for additional information and also visit the accompanying site links below to find more information for your model of TV / FREEVIEW box. right now you have your telly tuned in. What you could do it get an old sky remote off a friend/ neighbour. or buy from argos etc ( a lot cheaper then getting a replacement samsung one)
press the following buttons on the sky remote to program it to work with your samsung tv.
RED + SELECT
try the volume if this works press SELECT to save this code if it doesnt press Tv then try the volume again. repeat this step until the volume works your telly. once it doest dont forget to press the SELECT button to save.
Now you will be able to change your volume use the number keys. if you also press the HELP button on the sky remote this will also change your AV / SOURCE I hope this post helps you out. When it does please leave a thumbs up for me Please
With remote, hit MENU, (use up/down arrows) & scroll to SETUP. Hit ENTER & scroll to TV. Hit ENTER & scroll to AUTO CHANNEL SEARCH. Hit ENTER & scroll to CABLE. Hit ENTER & scroll to AUTO. Hit ENTER, wait as it scans (about 5 min). Your done.
First thing, check batteries in remote, next make sure there are no obstructions between your remote and your tv. i would then call olevia tech support and describe your problem. sounds like the remote sensor has failed. usually covered under warranty. check with olevia to see if they have a factory wide problem or issue with remotes. persistance pays off in this case so just keep on top of tech support. hope this helps, john.
I assume the control panel on the tv still works correctly?
If so i would think you have a remote problem.
If thats the case let me know I will send you a link to instructions to repair your remote.
