a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

hello there! i can help you with your problem. just follow these easy steps: 1. turn off your mobile phone.2. remove the battery, sim card, and memory card ( if you do have ) of the mobile phone.3. wait for 15 mins.4. after 15 mins of waiting, put in back the battery, sim card and the memory card. wipe first the sim card and memory card before putting in.5. turn on your phone. I'm pretty sure that after turning on your phone you will do have a signal.whenever you encounter this again, just do this procedure. kindly rate this post and thank you for choosing fixya.
You have to call the provider and just have them activate the IMEI number of your blackberry. Some times, it's automatically activated when you put in the SIM so you have to activate by customer service. When you put in the SIM are you getting any signal bars?
nokia 7230 it will say "sim card registration failed" no signal. cant make any calls. take the battery and sim card out and put it back in and the error message is GONE and works again. signal is back and can make calls. thought it might be something wrong with the sim card. did a sim swap. still does it. EVERYTIME i get that message and take the sim card and battery out and put it back in it works FINE. something wrong with the phone right? bought it in may this year.
Try doing this. Turn off the unit, remove the battery, press and hold the power button (while battery is out), then put the battery back and turn it back on. If that doesn't work, just repeat the steps including removing the Sim Card. Or turn on the unit without a Sim Card.
You can also try using reset codes but that would reset EveryThing back to default settings which might include losing the settings of your provider which is not recommended. But the initial step is safe to use.
this is happening to mine aswell. i have had it for nearly 8 months it had a good period of no problems bout 6 months after puchasing. However just today it has been saying inactive sim and re-setting itself for the last 45minutes. i blamed it on a loose sim card holder but i tightened that and it is still not working. the only way to fix this is to complain like a ***** and get your money back.
You did not specify which provider .. be sure that the phone is registered with your provider as well as the SIM card if it has one. The company has the ability to check your signal by sending a test signal from one of their towers.
