Question about Texas Instruments TI-86 Calculator
I bought a ti-86 graphing calculator from eBay and the screen is shifted to the right by one column and it makes it hard to see if i really did type a (1) or if the 8 is a 3, and so forth. please can somebody help me figure out how to align/adjust the creen on my ti-86 so that i can see all numbers and calculations?
First make sure the cable at the top of the screen is not pealing off near the edge, on the inside of the calcualtor. You may need to peal it off and reattach it, align the strip with the metal coating strips on the glass, you will see the strips when viewing the glass at an angle, but that is risky because you may not be able to reattach it. Next check the small square that says "8" on the back of the display board, you will see minature wires, make sure all the wires are lined up properly, if not thats a factory defect. Goodluck.
