Recovery tank not filling

Hoover working, dispenses from upper tank into carpet but water doesn't enter recovery tank. Is there a jam in the automatic shut off so that water cannot be recovered?

It seems like the suction around the cover is not holding correctly. May need a new seal or cover?

I'm having the same problem with my recovery tank. The water solution is coming out but as soon as I turn on the cleaner the red shutoff float pops up to the top and shuts off the suction. I've cleaned the tankand filter around the shutoff float and it's still not working. :(

The tank has an automatic shutoff float (red) that will stop the suction if the water level gets too high. this can also happen if the tank is not level or clean as the float can bounce around and jam at the top. I've actually had this one happen). I would make sure the float is down during the cleaning and see if the suction comes back. if not, please provide more details and we'll get 'er fixed!

My Hoover Steamvac Widepath will NOT pickup the water after dispensing. I checked the hose inside the cleaner, there was a cut in the hose so I put electrical tape and completely sealed the cut. Still...

Hi, empty the recovery tank of the Hoover SteamVac if the cleaner fails to pick up dirt. Once the tank is full, many Hoover models have an automatic shutoff that stops the cleaner. If the does not resolve the pickup issue, check the hose of the machine and remove any blockage.

Examine the water tank if water does not dispense from the SteamVac. It could be empty and need of a refill, or you may not have locked the dispenser firmly in place. The detergent tank should also be looked at and filled if empty.

Take care

The carpet is not intended to get soaked, like what you see with a spray application. If you are seeing a stream of water in the nozzle/tank during the recovery stroke, this is working properly.

How does lower and upper buckets work . is it the dirty water suppose to go in lower bucket or what . as i am trying to use this vac i am not able to

The Upper tank is for hot, clean water, with carpet cleaning solution mixed in at 5 ounces/gallon.

The Lower tank is the dirty water ecovery tank, hooked to the nozzle on the hood to **** up the water from the carpet.

Hoover vacuum carpet cleaner will not sucktion (sic)

No, this cleaner uses no belts.
If you are having a suction problem, first check that the lid on the recovery tank is lined up to the tank when installed to get a good seal.
Second, remove the tank and make sure the round black rubber seal is present on the pipe from the base that aligns with the bottom of the recovery tank. That seal connects the vacuum from the motor to the recovery tank.

Steamvac won't **** the water into the recovery tank.

This usually means one of a few things:

1. The lower tank is full
2. You did not dispense water (sloution tank empty), when applying solution to the floor.

Hoover steam vac clean surge

The recovery tank lid isn't locked down all of the way around. The foam filter on the inside of the tank lid is up too far, needs at leasat a 1/4 in gap from the top. The filter screen by thye indicator is clogged. Some have a duct that sits in front of the recovery tank, either it isn't there or not pushed down all of the way.
