The computer is particularly slow when trying to open internet explorer and sometimes right click on the desktop! i thought of reformatting Hdd but not sure? any advice will be appreciated , please try to be specific when you answer Thanks.

Try going to the control panel>performance and maintenance>disk cleanup. After running cleanup run the defrag. You can also cleanup your internet browser by deleting cookies, temp internet files, & browsing history. See if this helps speed up the system. Hope this helps & please rate this solution fixya. Thanks.

Yes it looks like it, to run the C language you will need to dual boot Windows 7 and Windows XP. Or install only WIndows XP. Another idea is to install a Virtual Windows XP Operating system. Therefore XP running in a Window of Windows 7. Called virtualization.
However virtualization is not possible on this model of Intel CPU.
You can configure your boot setup from your bios screen (for dell, either F11 or F12) then set up your optical drive as your 1st priority then, save settings. After that, you need to insert your windows XP cd in order for it to boot.

Hello, 1. What the motherboard you had been using 2. Whats the HDD
Check that your motherboard supports the higher HDD Upto 80GB HDD Windows can load the XP with servicepack 1 But after 80GB HDD supports the WIN XP with service pack 2 CD only. Try to install with the winxp having above sp1.
