Question about LG 37LP1D 37 in. LCD Television
I came home and the screen said "no signal" which simply means there is no input. I tried to change (w/ remote) the input to cable and it didnt do anything. I try to change the input on the control panel on the side of the tv and again doesnt do anything. So I try to turn the tv off and nothing. Doesnt change volume, channel... anything at panel nor with remote. I unplugged the television and plugged it back in and if came back on with the no signal again. I plugged a game console into the input that is selected and it worked, but the buttons dont work. Please help.
Based on your description, it appears that you have main board issues with your unit since your controls do not work and some inputs are NG.

There are some inductors that are out of spec. LG's original SB said to replace some of these with a jumper, but it only lasted a couple months.
You need to have the Total Main Assy replaced.

your main board has gone bad. Can be fixed, in my shop it would cost about $250. It is a real shame on the industry that these things last about 2 years or less. Hope you held on to your old crt style tv.

Please try this, look in the back of the TV and see if it has a small jack the size of a small MP3 headphone jack labeled with 'IR remote input', if it does, insert a mini phone plug in and out a couple times to clean the switch contacts that selct the front panel remote receiver or the external remote input. If that still does not work then it can be the remote receiver in the front of the TV is bad.
Please post back what you find and also leave rating if it helps.

Or www.digikey.com just make sure to use caps with low ESR, 105c, high ripple current, long life rating such as PANASONIC FM or FC series.
