Question about Philips 60P8342 60" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

60 in Philips television model# 60P8342

We got this television for free because it was having problems working for a while and then shutting off. we brought it home, my boyfriend cleaned out all the dust and then turned it back on and it worked great for two weeks, and now it starting up again. It will work up to 5 hours then shuts off sometimes it will turn on right away, but this time it wont turn back on. Just hoping someone might have an idea what is wrong to save us alot of money to fix it. You know times are tough. thanks

64p8342 Powers up,but no picture.

Try resoldering the vertical output IC have seen many of this model have hairline cracks on the vertical IC solder joints causing blanking of the CRTs while audio still worked.
