SOURCE: ERROR CODE "TE"

I had the tE error code on my dishwasher LDF7811ST and noticed that with the door half open the error would not appear. I faked the door being closed (pushed in the top latch (can be unlocked by pulling out with a paperclip after the test) after which the washer worked fine: suspected the wiring harness. Removed the stainless steel front and discovered quickly that 1 wire was cut (might have made contact with the door half open), 2 wires to the point where the insulation was gone and the bare conductor exposed (!)and 2 more were about to to be cut completely! I soldered and shrink wrapped the wires and the problem was gone. Made some pictures for evidence and plan to contact LG as this is a fire hazard!

SOURCE: LG dishwasher LDF modle 7811st

TE error code means Thermistor Fault or Inlet Water Temp too High.

Check the resistance of the thermistor (located on the bottom of the unit in between 2 orange wires with single spade connectors which is the heating element) and it was good 11.7K ohms at 71 degrees room temp. Take the front door off and trace wiring. There is a white plastic wire loom and approx.6" up check the wiring being melted in the black mastic. The thermistor wiring is red and dark blue.

Generally, some lose or broken wires cause this. Keep us updated.

I get a te code all the time and a he code from time to time.

from Lg this is the meaning of the codes.
  • The heater circuit has failed if "HE" is displayed. Discontinue use and contact a service technician. The dishwasher requires servicing.

TE
  • "TE" means the thermistor has failed or the temperature of the water entering the dishwasher is over 194 degrees Fahrenheit. Turn the temperature down on the hot water heater in the home. If the error code reappears, replace the thermistor.
By the sound of this your heating system is malfunctioning and needs service.
If you need more on this let me know, but it is either your temperature sensor or your heating element or control board.

I have a LG LD-14AW2 dish washer. it starts and then displays "HE". Is it the heater unit?

Hi glen bundese,

Yes it is the heater unit...

HE means Heating Error - The Element needs to be replaced - Or the Thermistor on it, though if the thermistor was faulty it would give a TE error.

Both parts come as a unit (Usually). I would refer you to a qualified L.G technician in your area
- Replace the element unit, and things would be OK.

Kind Regards :-)

My dish washer is coming up with HE

Hi muaddiaa,

HE means Heating Error - The Element needs to be replaced - Or the Thermistor on it, though if the thermistor was faulty it would give a TE error. Both parts come as a unit (Usually). I would refer you to a qualified L.G technician in your area - Unfortunately you did not provide me a model number to give you a part number of the element piece. Replace the element unit, and things would be OK.

Kind Regards :-)

I'm getting an error I cannot find in the book.

The "half E" is supposed to be a T. The code is TE, and means "
Thermistor trouble or very high inlet water
temperature. (over 194℉)" Some people have posted possible solutions on this site.

AE displayed on LG dishwasher

Please look one more time. The LG LDS 5811 dishwasher error codes are:

IE Error
OE Error
FE Error
E1 Error
HE Error
tE Error

It would also be helpful to know what happens when this error code displays. Please post back here, OK?

Thanks.

LG Dishwasher LDF7810 SST : tE Error (thermal error?)

Recommend that you closely check the water temp of incoming water. There is an error in some service manuals and if the inlet water temp is greater than 149 degrees (F) (some manuals incorrectly say 194 degrees), you could get an imediate tE error.
If that does not solve the problem:
_recheck_ the electric resistance of Thermistor. (11~14k Ohms at 77 degrees (F) )
Good Luck!

TE Code flashing what do this mean?

Error code tE is THERMAL ERROR. It is possible that the thermister has failed, but the most common cause is inlet water being hotter than 149 degrees (F) The optimal inlet temperature is 120 degrees minimum.
Always check that before you suspect hardware failure.
What did you find to be the problem? Thank for a reply.

ERROR CODE "TE"

The MOSt common reason for a "tE" error code is the temperature of the hot water from the hot water heater is greater thant 145 degrees (F)
Adjust your hot water heater down and measure the temp at the kictchen tap.
Good Luck!
