I Have 6 Infinity a/c systems that I bought for another project and didnt use them. I want to use them in my personal house but was told that they system may shut down with the existing duct work in the house. I really need to use them and I am willing to take some risk but I dont know how likely this is to happen.

The unit is 2.5 ton system. many units can replace the existing, you can upgrade to a 3ton if you wish without problems or upgraded ducting if enough ducting exist. Brands that will almost fit as is are Payne, Day and Night, Rheem, Ruud.
Carrier Infinity systems, do not have a manual reset switch. It will have an automatic reset depending on the failure.
I would first, turn off the breaker to the indoor and outdoor units. Wait about 5 mins and turn the breakers back on. Doing this will reset the Control Board in the system. The system itself, is probably locked out.
This should get the system to come back on, However, you may have the problem come back and lock out the system again.
If this happens again, i would advise calling a Carrier dealer with Infinity systems to test it.
if you have a mercury thermostat and it is not leveled properly it will turn the temperatyure on and off by a couple of degrees
some thermostats have the capability of running the unit longer than the set temperature
i would recommend calling a local heating and air conditioning contractor and get the unit cleaned and bring up the issue then
There should be a little black sensor bulb outside either on the unit normally under the electrical panel or inside it. It sound like the wire has come off or been disconected. It needs that on to properly run. Your control is trying to communicate with the outdoor unit and can not.
Contact the company that installed the unit. Its new, under warranty, Anything you do could void the warranty. If they do not take care of the problem without charges contact Carrier and tell them what's going on. The company who installed the unit is responsible for making it run correctly. Good luck.
