Re-download the ipsw file that was on your iPhone, Download Spirit to jailbreak, and that should do the trick.

How to identify old or new bootrom for iPhone 3GS

This guide is created to help those who are confused with what their iPhone 3GS' bootrom versions are. The devs haven't created a specific software/tool to make it easier for 3GS users but they are kind enough to tell us how.

Basically, these are the two (2) bootroms used in the 3GS:
  • OLD bootrom - iBoot-359.3
  • NEW bootrom - iBoot-359.3.2
Now, the problem is, how to locate that.

This is how

FOR MAC USERS
  1. Connect/plug-in your iPhone 3GS to your Mac
  2. Put iPhone to DFU Mode. (Read below)
  3. Go to Applications>Utilities> and open System Profiler
  4. Under the Hardware category, go to USB, and click on Apple Mobile Device (DFU Mode)
  5. At the lower part of that, you will find the detailed info. Look for Serial Number and you'll find the bootrom version at the end.
This is how it should look like (click on image to view larger): kid_ant_6.pngkid_ant_67.jpgkid_ant_6.png

FOR WINDOWS USERS
  1. Connect/plug-in your iPhone 3GS to your Windows
  2. Put iPhone to DFU Mode (Read below)
  3. Open Device Manager, open Universal Serial Bus controllers by clicking on the + sign beside it
  4. Select Apple Mobile Device USB Driver, right-click & select Properties
  5. Go to Details tab & select Device Instance Id from the dropdown menu
  6. You'll find the bootrom version at the end of the code on the lower box.
This is how it should look like (click on image to view larger): kid_ant_6.pngkid_ant_68.jpgkid_ant_6.png

Entering DFU Mode
  1. Plug/connect your device to a computer
  2. Turn it OFF
  3. Press and hold the POWER and HOME buttons together for EXACTLY 10seconds
  4. Release the POWER button but keep holding the HOME button until the computer beeps indicating that a USB device is recognized
If you don't get it at first, try holding the buttons for lesser time.

What is the differeance between iphone g3 to phone gs3?

the main difference between the iphone 3g and iphone 3gs is the speed. but here are the specifications for both phones
weight: the 3gs is slightly heavier at 135g memory: iphone 3g only has two options an 8gb or a 16gb whereas for the iphone 3gs it has 8gb/16gb/32gb camera: the iphone 3g has 2mp camera that can only take pictures while the ihpne 3gs has a 3.15mp camera that can also capture videos cpu/processor: iphone 3g has ARM 11 412 MHz, PowerVR MBX-Lite graphics while the iphone 3gs has 600 MHz ARM Cortex A8 processor, PowerVR SGX535 GPU. So the 3gs is faster and it means less or no lag on apps
the 3gs has a digital compass
and the 3gs has a longer battery time than the 3g.
to summaarize, the iphone 3gs is faster, has longer battery life, and has a bigger memory (as it comes with a 32gb version).
