Possible reason for it shutting down after running for a while could be faulty memory. If you can download Ultimate Boot CD from the internet you will be able to run a few diagnostic tests. Try some of the memory diagnostic tools and also check the hard drive. Another possibility is that it is something to do with the Lifebook power supply. If all fails, take it to a technician to get it checked out.

Could me many things. Let's think. I installed an antivirus once that would get stuck scanning some file, the CPU-- the main processor in the latop-- would go to 100% and would get so hot that the fans would go crazy cooling it down. It could easily shut down if left on all day from heat.

Another laptop I had- I read on the support boards (it would get hot and the fans would be very loud) that the thermal last between the CPU fan and the CPU would degrade, causing the heat dissipation to decrease-- the heat of teh CPU was not being wicked away through the paste to the CPU fan. Boom- the laptops would shut down from too much heat.

Did you install any new software lately? If no, it could be a hardware problem like I mentioned above.

Third, a friend of mine had a gateway laptop that would get very hot-- he could hardly use it. It was a loose/faulty graphics card that would get very got, causing teh fans to go on, and then the computer to **** down.

Many of these hardware problems are tough to solve over email like this because you need technical knowledge. Further, most of these require the unit to be sent in to fix, really, especially in the case of laptops which are tougher even to get at than desktops.

Call the manufacturer, as they might be able to talk you through a fix or sending it in. Even if it costs $130 bucks, it's still not the 500-600 you need for a new computer...

Good luck!

What does it mean by the beep sound from the UPS ES 350 unit?

Ok, 3-4 years is a much as you can expect from an ups battery so replacement is indicated. The beeps are letting you know the battery is not able to keep up with demand. So either you have recently added to the system or the battery/s failing.

Fujitsu Lifebook N3010 boot error

Do you have the original Driver and Application (DAR) CD? If so change your BIOS setting to boot from CD first and boot from the DAR. This will take you to the backup partition DICE (Disk Image Special Addition) on your hard drive. This will allow you to restore your system to the original drive image configuration. You will loose all your data!!!!!!!

Central heat and air

Without knowing more information:

1. The evaporator coil could be frozen blocking air flow.
2. Dirty air filters will block air flow.
3. If it has a 2 or 3 speed motor, the highest speed should be used by the AC setting. It could be a wiring issue here. You
didn't state if this is a new problem or has it always been this way.
4. If it's a belt driven blower, the belt could be slipping.
5. If its belt driven, you might have an adustable pully on the motor, if so it needs to be screwed in as far as possible for max speed.

I had the same issue years ago. It was like that from the day I bought the house. Mine is belt driven, so I simply bought a larger pully for the motor, thus making the squirl cage spin faster, and I get plenty of air flow now.

That's about all I got for Ya...

Good Day, you all;

This TV has many problems......at least three boards and many parts on each PCB..... most places charge between $750.00 to $1,200.00 to repair. So, I will let you be the judge if it is worth it. Get an estimate from an authorized service center be fore making final decision.

If you can repair yourself I will be glad to give you the info.....it takes an experience tech about 3 hours to repair.

Good Luck, big IRISH.

A little more background data...the 321 player has been working properly for years...and just recently decided not to play an image without scrolling north and south.

To answer the questions above, the unit is an AV321; connnected via optical cable (for the image) to a Sony LCD TV.

Daylight saving time issues

I picked this up from the Emerson Website Read below before going to the link. Try thi link: and poke around the website http://www.fox-international.com/emerson/ Important Notice About Daylight Saving Time (DST) and Emerson SmartSet® Clocks and Clock Radios Congress recently passed a new Energy Bill which includes a provision to extend Daylight Savings Time. At the beginning of 2007, Daylight Savings time will begin on the second Sunday in March and end on the first Sunday in November. Because of this change your SmartSet® Clock or Clock Radio will need to be updated. In order to set your unit we will need the following information from you: 1. Model Number You can find your model number on the back or bottom of your unit. (Click here for an example) 2. Serial Number You can find your serial number on the back or bottom of your unit. (Click here for an example) Based on this information we can identify which setting is necessary to adjust your unit for compliance with day light savings. There are three possible groups your SmartSet® Clock or Clock Radio could fall into: Group One changes the time zone to a previous time zone. Group Two adjusts for the spring and fall settings. Group Three is already set for 2007 daylight savings compliance. Group identification begins with your serial number. The first three to four digits of the serial number represent the year and month of manufacture. (If your serial number begins with 0607, that would indicate July 2006, 506 would indicate June 2005.) Models manufactured before January 2006 (serial number 506, 512, etc.) will follow Group One settings. Models manufactured between January 2006 and July 2006 (serial number 0601, 0603, etc.) will follow Group Two settings. Models manufactured after July 2006 (serial numbers beginning with 0608) are Group Three and do not require any changes. If you believe you have a Group One model, please click here. If you believe you have a Group Two model, please click here. If you cannot determine which Group your model may be in, please call us at 1-800-526-7521.
