Question about SanDisk Sansa Clip MP3 Player

2 Answers

Sansa Clip won't play music anymore.

At the start of the year I got a Sansa Clip and didn't upload the little CD that you get with it for their music store. Instead I downloaded some of my CDs onto the computer and put them on it using Windows Media Player. But now a month later I can't put any more music on and it won't play the music that I have on it already. Everything else still works. When I emailed their support place all I got back was an automatic response that told me nothing. Do I have to download the little CD? I would really rather not buy music from their online store when I already have bought the CD and put it on my computer! Please tell me what the problem is and how to fix it!

Have you tried RESETTING the player?

IIRC, you do this by holding it in the "power on" position for 15 seconds or so. Then wait 30 seconds or so and the power it on.

You should probably back up the contents although when I reset it it didn't erase any of my content.

MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You can download mp3 music files from the Internet toyour computer and then copy them to your MP3 player using the USB cable. For your CD collection, you need to convert your CDs tomp3 music files onto your computer or download them from the Internet and thencopy them to your MP3 player after you have connected the USB cable tothe MP3 player and the computer.
You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player willcreate a MP3 music file for each music track.Click on this link for instruction on converting musicfiles to mp3 file format :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r5798418-creating_transferring_mp3_music_files

I can't seem to download videos into my mp3.

Good morning, afternoon, evening or night, whatever time you are viewing this. You are having trouble downloading videos onto your MP3 Player? Well there is a reason for and you probably won't like this... There is no way you can play videos on this MP3 Player. Sansa Clip doesn't support video files, only music files and audio podcasts. Sorry about this, but FixYa encourages you to come visit the website again soon. Again sorry, but I hope you have a good day, evening or night, whatever time you are viewing this solution post.

I just got a sansa clip 1gb mp3 player & need help on everything!

The Sansa Clip is not compatible with iTunes. You will have to get your music from another music service, preferably one that gives you the songs in mp3 format instead of AAC format (although it will accept WMA's, the DRM-protection system on most WMA's will give you problems down the line, especially if you cancel the music service that you got them from - songs in mp3 format will be usable even after you've cancelled your music service subscription).

Loading My ITunes library into new Sansa Clip

Hey guyi,

According to information provided by the manufacturer (Sandisk), the Sansa Clip MP3 player can use two different methods to upload songs: a simple drag-and-drop interface, or syncronizing the player with Windows Media Player.

With the traditional drag-and-drop interface, you would need to connect the player to your computer and select the "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer" option when it is presented. Once you have done this, you should be able to double-click on the "Sansa" player and then the "Music" folder. After this folder has been opened, you should be able to drag and drop (or copy/paste) the files into this folder to upload them to the player.

For more information or instructions on how to add files to your Sansa music library using Windows Media Player however, you may wish to refer to your owner's manual or the following link on the manufacturer's website:

http://www.sandisk.com/assets/File/Downloads/user-guides/clip-usermanual.pdf

Unfortunately Windows Media Player does not currently appear to support the ability to directly import iPod playlists, but if you keep most of your music files in the same folder/directory on your computer, both programs should be able to share the same music library. Please keep in mind that this may only apply to music that you loaded onto the computer yourself and other unprotected file formats that both programs recongize (like .MP3 files), and may not necessarily apply to copy-protected songs downloaded from iTunes or other online music services.

Hope this helps you out.

Sincerely,
Aaron

Music from Itunes (from cd's uploaded to computer) to Sansa

The Sansa Clip cannot read AAC file format (which is the format used by iTunes) - convert all your AAC files to Mp3's or WMA's

Won't upload a certain cd

It seems odd that the device wont play 1 particular artist. If you downloaded it from URGE, it may be subscription content and that may be causing the error. I would try burning the music to a cd, then re-rip them back to your computer to see if that strips out the problems. Best of Luck.
