To connect to the internet using wifi on the iPod touch, just follow the following steps: Firstly, you should be in a wifi zone(an area where you can access wifi) or if you want to use it at your house with your residential internet connection, just get yourself a wifi router(shouldn’t cost more than $50-60) and configure it with your residential internet
Once you are in a wifi zone, on your iPod touch, go to: Settings > Wifi > Turn your wifi ON > Select a wifi network > Key in the WEP(only if asked for) > Connect Once you’re done with this, you should get the IP settings and be able to surf the internet with no problem. Note: At times when you’re too far away from the wireless router or a big thick brick wall is separating you and the wifi router, your iPod might show the network as available and you would also be able to connect to it, but surfing the internet using it would become a problem. If this happens to you, don’t worry, just move closer to the wifi router and it shouldn’t pose any other problems. Happy Surfing!

try to find out the wi-fi password then just type it in when you go to the internet or app store and if u dont know wifi password then call your wireless settings it only works if u have wireless router
It has to be thru a Wi-Fi. Go to your settings and make sure the Wi-Fi is turned on. It does not access the net on it's own like a cell phone. It rides on a Wi-Fi. Check your settings be sure the Wi-Fi is on, if you have Wireless internet in your home you will have to set up the wep settings, or your router numbers.
Most routers these days that come from companys already have a pre built in password known as a WEP key. This can be found on the back of the modem under WEP key. It will most likely be on a sticker. If you have any further questions feel free to contact us at www.wiredextreme.com.
Go to settings on your touch and click wifi make sure the nifi switch is on and the ask to join network switch is on. see if it recognizes your wireless network and join the network. it will ask you for the wep key for your network. you will find that on the router label. enter the wep key and you should have access.
if you find this helpful, please leave a vote on fixya, thanks
when it attempts to connect to your network, it is asking for the wep key which is located on the bottom label of your wireless router. look on your router and write down the wep key. attempt to connect again and enter that key. also go to settings and make sure you attempting to log into your wireless not your neighbors. your network identifier should be on your router also.
i sort of have the same problem. at my house my linksyys always asks for a passcode. the passcode is either the wep key or the wpa key. look around the web to see if you can find where to find the wep or wpa key cuz i still havent found mine
